| Hey, does anyone know where I can find some thermal tape for censors. I have a temperature reader and the tape is wore out. I've tried googling for some, but had no luck. If someone could help me find some i'd appreaciate it, thanks in advance. | ||

| well, i kinda doubt that nothing showed up on google, seeing how i ran a search and got plenty results for "thermal tape" and looking through some of those, you might want to try frag tape which seems to be the standard if youre looking for thermal tape specific for thermal sensors, im pretty sure that all you need is normal thermal tape | ||

| If you are thinking about placing the sensor alongside a heatsink, I would suggest the quick and easy (read: cheap) way as using some scotch tape, just a sliver should do the trick. You may have to clean it off/reapply it every now and again, but then again, it's probably something you have plenty of at home. | ||

yeah but thats not the kind i'm talking about. This kind is clear and is used for temp sensors, maybe that'll work I just missed it. Thanks again.

Well the temperature gauge i have came with some clear sensor tape, which is the reason I thought I would have to get some of the same kind to use the censors properly. I've thought about using regular tape such as scotch tape, but figured the results wouldn't be the same.

| I may be off here, but the way it appears to me, as long as the sensor is making contact with whatever part it is that you're trying to monitor, there shouldn't be much difference at all performance-wise. Price-wise will likely be another story... There probably will be a 1-2 degree discrepancy (if that, I dunno) between placing the sensor in direct contact with the component vs using a double-sided thermal tape to hold the sensor in place... It's all up to you in the end, though, since it's your machine, and only you know just how precisely you want to monitor the temps of whatever it is you're trying to keep tabs on... EDIT: Something I just thought about... It's possible that the temps of whatever item may cause the scotch tape adhesive to give up... You might just try it to see... | ||
