16: Age of (heterosexual) consent, minimum age for marriage with parents consent, minimum age for buying your own tobacco, can also ride 50cc (!) motorbikes (after an easy test);
17: minimum age for driving (supervised by an over 21 until you pass both a written test & an hour long driving test); can also ride motorbikes up to 125cc, then limited to 33bhp for 2 years after passing written & riding tests;
18: Minimum age for voting, buying your own alchohol, marriage without parents consent, age of homosexual consent.
21: minimum age for seeking election as a Member of Parliament

And Jon, you said limited to 33bhp!?! Not sure if there is some sort of conversion factor here but that seems incredibly low for any car...even a civic (which is like 90 horsepower stock). But you know, that is a brilliant idea...limit new drivers according to horsepower (which prevents the younger ones from having fast cars). But damn, wish I was somewhere else...legal age here in the U.S. for buying alcohol is 21...same with consumption but nobody cares (we even drink at work some special days!).

And you know kenny, there is a reason adults wouldn't know the same as 5th graders...in the past (like more than 20 years ago) the advancement of learning wasn't as great. Education has gone through its own evolution where something they learned in mathematics in 12th grade (senior in HS), kids today would be learning in 8th or 9th easily.
