| Picked one up last night and i'd be happy to answer anybodys questions about it if your considering picking one up sometime or whatever. Nothing too game specific though, as i only have Wii Sports, Zelda and Red Steel ATM and i've only spent a few hours with each. And please dont just come here to flame. ![]() | ||

Yeah, you move with the thumbstick, target/inspect with the buttons and theres aditional sword moves where you use both, the nunchuck has motion sensing too.
My wrist was a little sore last night, but ive been playing zelda all day today and im fine. I got a little carried away with baseball at first last night, it took a while to strike a balance, and i was probably exagurating a bit at first, but im used to it now. You really dont have to move much if you dont want too. And its not like you have to do anything hard, just fast. Yeah you can have a real stance and pitch as hard as you can and wrench your shoulder, or you can just flick your wrist really fast. I played the last 2/3 of the baseball game reclined on the couch just flicking my wrist as opposed to the first inning sitting up on the couch actually going through the motions.
Yes, at first. ![]()
Absolutely. With my employee discount i got the system, 3 games (including wii sports) and another controller for $350, thats less than a 360.

| Heres the whole setup now. Doesnt look half bad even through composite, but ill withold any graphics judgements untill i get my component cables next week sometime. The unit itself, as small as we all know it is, but its suprisingly heavy for its size. This picture kind of sucks, but its very glossy. You can see the clear circular part on the bottom, which i didnt even know existed untill an hour after i was done playing and flipping through the manual and saw the include contents. Theres also a trasparent little stand for the sensor bar. Heres the controllers in comparison to my Fiancees DS, but even this picture doesnt really give you a sense of how small it is. Heres the connector between the wiimote and the nunchuk, notice the little clear hook for the wrist strap. Before you start any Wii game it gives you a warning to make sure your clear of people and furniture before playing and that the wrist strap is secure. Always there, but its no more annoying than the seizure warning every time you turn on a DS. ![]() Here it is, the sensor bar. Yeah, thats it. Its got single hair thing loooong cable that runs to the wii, so you've got plenty of length to play with. The composite cables and power cables are adequate length too. Oh, and those are IR LEDs, theyre not actually visible, they just show up pink on CCDs. Sensor bar again, for scale thats a 30" widescreen TV, the sensor bar itself is only 9.5" long. Sorry this is kind of blurry, the macro mode sucks on my cam. Closeup of the SD card slot in the front and the synch button. The controller that comes with the console is already synched, but you have to for any aditional controllers, its just two buttons to press. And heres the top/left side of the unit, all the gamecube stuff. If you dont need/want it, you wont notice its there under those flaps. And yes, wavebirds are compatable, and you can use gamecube controllers with mose VC games i think, i have no idea about using SD cards or the internal memory with gamecube games, but probably. Overall im really impressed with the unit and controllers. Everything feels sturdy, nothings flimsy or cheap feeling, its all very high quality. Oh, and i hate slot loading drives, but the Wiis is the gentlest, smoothest ive ever seen, it just seems to grab the disc right out of your hand. More questions welcome, or any specific picture requests? | ||

| omg...it needs a sensor thing? here all this time I thought it was like the PS3s controller where it didnt need anything like that and it was all internal. Man it just got a down from me (I take my game systems everywhere, portability is a must...thats just one more thing to carry around.)But anywho, other than that I like it. Does the Wii do High Definition mostly? or are developers holding out on that. | ||

Heres the list. Almost 30 in NA, even more by the end of the year.
The Wii controler has pointer functionality, which is what the sensor bar is for. Most of the menu interface is point and click, and it makes the shooting in Red Steel and Zelda perfect. The PS3 only has tilt and i dont know if it has the capabilities of the wii remote. Wii sports has cheesy graphics, but it really showcases the capabilities of it, i popped it in last night and i was just like, wow, i didnt think it was gonna be able to do that. Bowling for example, you make the bowling motion, but you can give it a little bit of twist for spin to hook it, or flick it back for backspin... shifting around the controler and watching the avatar on the screen shift around the bat the same way. IIRC, every launch title supports 16:9 and 480p if you can get the component cables. Its not HD, but its something. Zelda looks great so far on my 30" HDTV, but im trying to restrain myself from playing more untill i can get the component cables.
