Well I dont know if anyone has noticed that I haven't posted in a long time. My mom recently got remarried and we moved to a new house. The new house we moved into is very far off the road and didnt have cable. Today they finally were able to get the internet installed... after going a month without internet. Now the first night of having internet me and my friends are having a mini lan party at my house. Also a good thing is I went from a 786k connection to a 5mb connection. There has been one good thing about not having intenet, I was able to focus a lot more on school. This past marking period I was able to keep a 4.0gpa which is a first for me. I fell like I have missed out on a lot, going on newegg I see nvidia released a 8 series video card... so much to catch up on.

When I was younger I had problems going without the internet. So I know how that goes. But oddly last winter I went 3-4 months without and didn't really miss it at all. So don't worry, one can over come their internet addiction with time.

I would have installed wifi on the lines (of course with permission) and then used a cantenna..Those things are good for atleast a mile! If you have the internet, you can get cable from youtube

I used to have to go without whenever I wnet back home from uni in the holidays, it sucked big time. But like you said with your grades, i know i would do a lot better if I didn't spend most of my free time trawling through forums and such like.

You know what sucks.?

my girlfriend has 512k downstream and 128k upstream.

I have 8mb downstream and 512k upstream.

My upload is as much as her download. Canada needs faster internet. Well at least nothern Canada.

Maybe I should talk to our cable company about opening services in Yellowknife. hrrmmm...

thats good as when she downloads a file from you she gets it at her usual sped so wont complain about it been slow

Isn't it amazing how many "real world" things can get done in a day when you don't have the WWW !

if i didn't use internet for a month, or, for example my computer, i wouldn't get much more done in school...just my work ethic...no teacher no, i don't wanna learn about rosa parks.

Lol....that brings back memories....Year 9 history...what a blast.....not....

Actually to be honest it was alright....but back on topic, my internet was down for about 4 days last week, and even though I am the resident geek/internet hog I think I missed it the least out of everyone. The internet is such a waste of time - I could get so much more work done if I didn't feel compelled to use it all the time. Facebook, MySpace, PC Apex, WhereIsIt....the list goes on and on....
