Default Should I see a doctor about this?

Well, due to a misundestanding at work, I only have one good hand! And I have been wanting to make a poll for a while, so bear with me if I mess this up.

My poll is simple, if this was your hand, would you see a doctor, or just wrap it up and keep your cash for computer parts... I am going for the second option. It hurts, but life is a b####.

Paying for health care? No thanks...

Having never had to divide my cash between PC parts and fixing parts of me, I can't help. Doesn't look too bad though, just a bit bruised.

If you think its broken, get it looked at

looks like what happened to my friends hand after some crazy football game

if i remember, it hurt, but it went away after a while

im assuming this misunderstanding involved that hand hitting something/getting hit really hard?

im pretty sure your hands just swollen cuz its pissed you got it hurt

granted, this is a pc oriented site, not sure if we have any actual doctors here

"Depends" (but I voted for hand removal), if it's over 24 hours and still painful, might think about it. If it's getting better after 24 hours to a noticable degree - skip the doctor.

Cut off the hand, replace it with a Dremel. That's hard-core!

I would need a keyboard made of unobtainium, to do that, I a typing left handed now, but the 'claw' hand tries to jump in sometimes. Dremel and keyboard=well, no more keyboard!

Have a good one, and thanks for voting in my pole. Anyone got a left handed Dremel...

My Dad once told me a story about a guy he met at the ER. This guy had been in a barfight and hurt his hand pretty good, but hadn't gone to see a doc as he thought he might get busted for the fight. While at the ER they told him he'd have to have his hand removed...no lie. Gangrene had set in and it was too far gone to save. Go to the doctor and at least get an X-ray.

Im to hard headed to go to the doctor. Iv never gotten stiches in my life...the most iv ever done is put a really big bandaid on my wounds. Im a hater of peroxide too...stings like a if you know what i mean on a really bad wound.

But yea, that in mind, i voted wait it out/screw the docs...but thats coming from me.

If you hurt it at work, your legally covered by workmans comp for all injuries.
when you go in just tell them its a work injury and to bill your employer!!!

Go to the doctor just for the fact that if it gets worse ,its been documented and you can make a claim .

You probably should go get it looked at... the swelling around the knuckles and radiating outward over the back of the hand is not necessarily a good sign. You can always pop into the emergency room of your local hospital and have it examined (after filling out the required volumes of paperwork, etc.).. they have to look at you even if you don't have insurance.. then later, when the bill comes, send 'em $5 a month.. you are making an effort to pay the bill, so there's nothing they can do about it... and I'm sure you can $5 a month in change in the couch....

Just remember... it's hard to type, let alone mod a system, when you've modded yourself to resemble Captain Hook...

Anyway. that's my .02

Get an x-ray done. I broke my had punching my brother in the face when I was a young lad and the back of my hand swelled up like an egg... Turns out I had what was called a boxers fracture and had to have my hand in a cast for a couple of monthes and a splint on my middle finger because I broke its metacarple. It was a great excuese when I flipped of my teachers.

Chill out “Anonymous” OK, He (fauxpaux) wasn’t saying we should scam the system. He merely stated that if you don’t have insurance, you can still be treated (thank God only in America) and make payments based on your financial situation. He wasn’t suggesting that we as tax-payers should pay the bill.

Go to the doctors...I'm not really the type to go to the docs either but it looks pretty bad and you don't want it getting any worse.
