![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Your CPU speed is achieved by taking your ACTUAL front-side-bus speed (100, 133, 166 or 200MHz) and 'multiplying' it by a certain factor. For instance, if you have a p4 2.0GHz cpu running on a 133MHz bus (533MHz quad-pumped, but the actual clock speed is still 133MHz) you CPU multiplier would be 15 (2000MHz / 133MHz = 15.03) That's how you find your multiplier.

| Current AMD AthlonXP CPU's have unlocked multiplyers, Intel P4's and Celerons based on socket 478 don't. Thats why you can only overclock with your FSB if you have an Intel P4 or Socket 478 Celeron, whereas with AMD you can overclock with either your FSB and/or your Multiplyer. AMD OWZ YOU |
