This is a bit of a whinge/gripe poll I guess

Was wondering what your thoughts are?

Have a think about which brands you've had, which brands your friends have had and which have consistantly given you grief (or bad general results) and vote for the worst offender

It doesn't have to be the worst OC'ing board or the worst for gaming, I'm just talking about something that you've said to yourself "I'm never going to buy stuff from them again!"

There are multiple choices, but please be honest and don't bomb it with everything apart from your current mobo (or similar)

Oh - post if you have a choice that I couldn't fit on the list too

I don't see PC Chips on that list

Friend of mine bought a SOLTEK techsupport is terrible also the same with ALBATRON

I will go with what Dex said and vote for PC Chips

I really can not say what is not my least favorite i have only owned 2 different MB, Asus and Gigabyte they have been both great boards for me, right now i am just using Gigabyte on both of my pc's when i had upgraded from the Asus MB.

For the choices listed I picked Albatron. But I would also vote for PC Chips.
To answer a bigger question. I would pick Abit as the mobo that has fallen
the most in respect. Though it is still a top choice.

When I read the question, the first board that came to mind was PC Chips.

Heh, I must be lucky, I've owned more than half those brands, and they've all been great to me.

But I'd have to say soltek was the worst of them all.

And who voted for DFI ?!??!?

I've only had experiance with Asus,Gigabyte, and Biostar and the Gigabyte was by far the worst. The board was doa which wouldn't have been to bad if it hadn't taken them almost 2 1/2 months to get it back out. The Asus wasn't too bad and the Biostar is excellent though I've not tried out either of their support lines.

Id say PC Chips and ECS and Jetway

I have to say, all the stock Intel MicroATX boards that come in systamax PC's and just about every propiratary board is the worst coming in second is PC chips most definately bad, and albatron hasnt done me good eiher, and

i second the fact that someone voted for DFI

Let's go back through my list:

PCChips boards (M560TG x 3, M807) were shoddy, but at least they were cheap and clocked surprisngly well (the former to 83MHz, the latter to 112).

ECS (K7S5A x2, K7S6A, K7VTA3) wouldn't overclock, and the support was solely from the user-fandom, but again, the price covered many sins.

My ASRock (939SLI32-eSATA2) let me down in one significant way (wouldn't support two floppies!) but at least the tech support responded to my inquiry, albeit in an unhelpful manner. And it's still a damn nice board for a non-tweaker on a $80 budget.

I had a FIC (VA-503+) at the time the first slot-A K7 came out and it was spectacular watching the newsgroups ignite as to how bad their board (the SD11 as I recall) was... but the only problem my 503+ had was jumper-happiness. I actually broke them out to a front panel.

I think Abit was the most disappointing. It's not that my AV8 was a *bad* board, it was just that it was fairly expensive, and a 'premium' make, so my expectations were very high, so it shouldn't have had consistent problems with unreliable temperature sensors and BIOS-of-the-week.

You dont have PC CHIPS on there... SO many headaches caused by saving $30 on a mobo for my girlfriend...

Owned 3 Gigabyte's - hated all three of them too. Two of the same model (RMA and then RMA'd for refund), then I was a glutton for punishment and tried again. I know some of you have great luck with them but in the list of manufacturer's I've used, they've got the worst record.

It's not on the list, but FIC boards, they were very common way back when, had jumpers for just everything and were always a PITA. They are still around, although not to popular.

I really haven't had a motherboard that I flat out hated yet. They've all had their little niceties.

I might vote for Albatron but my Albatron board wasn't all that bad. I liked how it talked to me when things went wrong
