Ever just run outta room ??

I just did ( bout an hour ago ) I went to burn something on my video rig and got the lil' message " running out of disk space"

. Guess i should keep better tabs on how much/fast im eating up HDD space, I didnt even have enough space for a temp file to make a DVD . All good now though , I tossed in a spare 40gb and shuffled some files around, till I can get to the warehouse for some new drives.

I remember when I though a 20gb drive was THE BOMB

. Now i'm looking at multi-terabyte solutions

HTRN, make me glad i got a couple 250GB setup for just that, are these movies that you are saving to the HD? or just other files and other software programs you are saving, it is just like some of the games i have that take up to 4 to 5GB of space to use 1 game.

Yup. I remeber once getting down to half a meg free on my 120gb hard drive after about 2 weeks of having it. Course Id just gotten a new internet connection to so

Yes I'v had HDs down to 200M free and defrag could not run.

Ranger ,

these are all movies & shows . I have rigs for different things, odd i know but I genrally build a pc for any new use I come across .

Right now i'm workin' on getting a storage array for my HTpc

. And just about ready to set up a RAID 5 for my software rig ( need one more 500gb drive )

LOL looks like you will be definitely going for the big one 500GB HD ouch those are huge drives, do you have a lot of luck with them big HD i heard they have a lot of issues with them since they are so big that is why i only went with the 250GB, of course i have never ran a raid set up even Thu my computer can be setup for it, this is a noob ? If you don't mind me asking how many GB does it take to make a 1 terabyte would that be 2x 500GB HD or more.

1000gb = 1tb

and I've never actually used a drive bigger than 250 , but as i need the room i've desided to try out the 500's

I've run RAIDs alot and love'm they're a great way to keep data and such safe without having to "burn to disk " all the time , and a good safegaurd against a drive failure ( depending on the RAID Config. )

I am always running out of room. I only have a 80gb hard drive that fills up really fast. I'm probably going to get another and RAID 0 them. Or maybe just get a new seagate, the ones with perpindicular recording, and sell my 80gb.
