"The ornithopter, known as the Ã‚â€œflapper,Ã‚â€ takes wing in Downsview yesterday morning. It stayed aloft for about 14 seconds before a crosswind caused it to bank and then nose-dive into the runway. The flight into the record books lasted about a third of a kilometre."

Cool that it flew, hope the dufus doesn't kill himself on any further trials. Those things went out of favor 100 years ago for good reason.

Lol, cool that they finally got it to fly.
Reminds me of those old black and white movies that they used to show in history class where you see planes similar to thus flapping around.

Um, Didnt they try this In the 1800s? And it Didnt fly for long periods. Better off sticking to the wright brothers design.
