*Credited with the idea of Father's Day is Sonora Smart Dodd from Spokane Washington, who decided that Fathers should also be honor after hearing a Mother's Day sermon.

*First time Father's Day was celebrated was in June 19, 1910

*Father's Day was supported by President Calvin Coolidge in 1924.

*In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson declared the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day with a presidential proclamation.

*Official Flower of Father's Day: Rose - wear red for living father and white for deceased father.

*In 1916, US President Woodrow Wilson approved the idea of observing an annual Father's Day.

Its not much but at least its a day for the Dads out there.

Definatly !! Happy fathers day , hope all the dads out there have a great day . I know I will, my kids are takin me out to coffee and then to go see the movie " CARS " . When you have a 10yr old son the day is kinda for him too ( specially when he has 5 sisters )

We had out fathers day on friday, we cooked for our dad, in our fire pit that we built a couple years back.

We made a feast! Maple glazed Salmon steaks and fillet's, steaks. It was awsome.

HAHA well the day sorta was going ok....My son gave me a pair of wireless headphones, work pretty dam good too.

But my girlfriends Uncle was sent home to pass and she just left 2 hours ago for a 10 hour drive to reunite with her family. This has been one hell of a year so far .....geeze. Kinda frustrating, the guy is one that thinks of everyone, his dam doc has been say'n he was suffering from pnemonia(spelling) and come to find out it was cancer in the liver that spread to his stomache and farther.

Just one more reason I fold with all of my rigs.........just wish they would hurry up and cure or treat cancer!

i got my dad a canon eos 350d that hes wanted for ages but never got. damn hes lucky to have a son like me lol cost a bundle as well lol
