Cool Linux, I love it.

Today I was playing with Suse linux, I put in my Ethernet card and it wanted drivers, Then it gave me suggestions on what to do, One of them was to get the driver off the internet . Wow, I thought Windows was stupid but that was just so wrong..

Not as stupid as you think most people aren't connecting to the Internet through a Network but rather through either standard mdems or broardband mdems which can be connected using USB.

Anyways it still doesn't beet Windows "No keyboard detected press F10 to continue"

Hardware support in LInux is soooo much better now than it used to be. I can't begin to tell you how much hardware I gave away because it wouldn't work in my older linux system. Not great stuff, but lots of modems, couple of old sound cards, scanners, etc. Today almost everything you can buy off-the-shelf in a store is supported.

I have to agree with Stick, thought it seems stupid, it is only as good as its source, but the unix/linux enviroments have come a very long way in the area of hardware recoginition. Gone are the days of the missing drivers

9 times out of 10 you got your install program from the internet. You could still get it from the internet on another machine and burn it onto a disc
