Default columbine rpg

So there is a game based on a tragedy just like a war yet this one still seems pretty damn sick. What do you think of this?

It is utterly sick, twisted and tasteless..... therefore it should be a success. What a shame.

I've been reading up on the columbine incident and it is a tragedy and no one should be allowed to take another's life but I feel we are being mis-informed about it.

I just feel that more people were involved than just two people... Read the offical report, it says they had 95 explosive devices in the school a few of which weighed 20+ pounds, you're telling me that two people just carried those in?

All I have to say is I dont agree with the game, but I knew stuff like this happens. Not much people can do about it. I would be pretty pissed at the guy that made it if i knew someone that went to that school though.

*EDIT whatever happened to "don't feel the trolls" ??? Obviously that what this guy is and wants to be fed, this is giving him what he wants. Attention that he was sorely deprived of when he was little"

Ahh Yes, reminds me of a thread not too long ago about those people protesting at funerals. Its sick, we have so much to worry about now these days. We dont know if our children will be safe from pedofiles, or if they ewill even come home alive from school.

There are sick sick people in the world, Im just ashamed we cant do anything about it. Unforunatly, in a couple years a game about Sept 11 will come out too. I remember that day, we all do. Some ass hole of a kid was laughing at it (But hes a mental case anyway...he has ADHD). Sure we might be able to get a petition signed or some law passed (I kinda wonder why the government has done anything about this, YET they are focused on non important issues that can wait). Yes its fking sick, plain disturbing. Theres nothing "cool" about death, or dieing, or killing someone.

Dont you think the kids in the school during the shooting tried to stop them? I mean comon, 2 kids? They would to have been pretty big and muscular in order not to be stopped.

Absolutely sick, the people that made that need to be shot.

On the ohter hand I fiind it hilarious that they are sticking to the age old myth that Marilyn Manson caused them to do it!

Wait....Is that what they're saying? That Marilyn Manson caused them to do it?

I thought it was DOOM that influenced them.

Yeah but they also started the whole "goth rock is warping our fragile childrens minds movements". The parents blamed his music and he was interviewed my Michael Moore in Bowling for Columbine and came across really well because despite what the media say he is an amazing person and very smart. he does most of what he does just to piss small minded people off.

He does it to piss off the Catholics/Christians (well the fundies anyway..or thats what Im guessing). And Thats how that event sparked the whole "Video Games Cause Violent Behavior" thing. Before that there was no link to video games and violence..

Ahh the media. Look up the shooting on wiki, FYI The Trenchcoat mafia had nothing to do with the shooting, But I remeber vividly the media making us think there were more than 2 people involved..

Yeah, tell me about it. Before videogames, they blamed heavy metal. Before heavy metal, they blamed........MAD Magazine. Sad but true.

And what really pisses me off is that the parents of the kids that shot up Columbine had the absolute gall to blame something other than themselves. Yeah, they couldn't be bothered to sit down for a minute and actually think about just exactly why their kids did what they did. No, they just didn't want to be accountable for their actions. Not once, did the parents take into consideration that maybe, just maybe, something went wrong that they never bothered to fix. Could be that they were never around for their kids, or they just didn't give a crap. I think the kids had bully problems, but since the parents never got involved in their kids' lives, they did nothing.

As if that wasn't bad enough, you also have the kids themselves, the ones that shot up the school, blaming DOOM for influencing them, nevermind that they were already mentally disturbed by the time they were ready to go on their little shooting spree. I think the kids actually admitted that they pretended the school was a level from DOOM, and the students and teachers were the imps and demons. Sad.

Of course, the media was there to blow things completely out of proportion, putting unneccessary pressure on game developers, who for all intents and purposes, just wanted to make fun and enjoyable games.

To summarize, the parents demonized music, the kids demonized videogames, and the media just made it worse.

Sad... retarded... stupid... shameful.
That's my entry for understatement of the year.

The 'tards that put this crap out are the type of maladjusted, friendless idiots that consistantly ruin my faith in humanity. I have nothing for them but contempt and a sideways pineapple.

They're probably the type that whack off to pics of their grandparents or something....

Default I played this game

Well, this was a topic on a radio show I listen to, lots of controversy. So I said what the heck, downloaded the game and played it some.

Graphix suck. I stopped playing the game when I was 'supposed to' plant a bomb in the cafateria. No thanks.

Now let me say I love Far Cry, Doom3 and such, but a bomb in a HS cafateria?

I only played the first part of the game, could not go farther. The game seemed to try to give a lot of sympathy to the Columbine shooters.

I got in a fight back in 1987, I won, but with a fist to the mouth, not a gun! (yeah, I am old).

In my opinion, the game should not hve been made.

Have a good one!

The problem is that all the attention given to Columbine is promoting the terrible act that they did, and this game is the result. I don't really know for sure, I haven't played it and don't really plan on it, but the media blitz around Columbine showed that these guys accomplished exactly the stupid mission they intended, and will go down as "martyrs" for outcast losers who have rejected life because they gave up fitting in and finding their place.

Columbine went down over 7 years ago now. It was a decisive battle in the high school matter of jock vs. nerd that we all saw back in the day. And when we all grew up we realized that war was meaningless. They made a meaningless attempt to change something as meaningless as high school social structure, and though it's terrible that people died, it's done and it should remain meaningless, the only problem is that people keep bringing it up.

I don't see a problem with making a game based off of any situation, then again, me and a few friends have come up with ideas for games that would probably turn more than a few heads. (the one that immediatly comes to mind is a game where you play a holocaust victim attempting to escape a camp, after you beat that you would be able to unlock a mode where you were a camp guard. I think we titled it "Death Camp")

I guess what people have to understand is that it is a game and not reality. (OR games don't create alternate realities to put it another way.) I'm sort of surprised that everone above thinks the game is sick or "shouldn't be made." The gaming community as a whole normally tries to push things. (GTA, Carmagadon, ect)

Personally, I think that if someone is interested in playing it, they should be able to. If they find it as sick or lame, then they don't have to play it.
