Lolzorz, yeah but he always looks stupid in photos and 15gig is extreme, my poor laptop is gunna be creaking under the strain with that goliath ridng its back.

The specs are just so vague, 128mb video memory to run Aero, is that the spec to run everything in vista smoothly or just the mimimum.

Trust Microsoft to come up with somethingso big that wants so many resources and then not explain themselves properly!

Only those machines with a graphics card that has a significant amount of memory will be able to use this 3D display.

So I guess everyone else is going to have to run a console then? Just like the old dos days!

Althought I think 15gb and 1gb Ram 128mb Vid card is extreme for some , most folks I know allready have this set up in thier main rig ( and thier back up)

Honestly , how many of you still run a 64mb card and a 20 gb drive ??and 512 ram is standard in most all pc's sold today but most folks have upgraded to 1gb. I know thier are some folks that dont meet these spec's but then tthose same folks probably wont be upgrading to this O.S. anyhow.

So its really not that big a deal, and the 15gb's will be trimmed by the time it hits store shelves, I'm sure

Have you taken a look at dells spec Im surprised those things can run Windows at all! (they come with 128 or 256Mb of ram...and onboard VGA well most do anyway..)

Oh lets not forget, they use the Pentium 666 Evil Processor...lol

I def. agree with this one. There aren't very many people that I have talked to about Vista that even want to upgrade. Most people are happy with XP. You very seldom find someone saying "XP just isn't enough for me, I can't wait for vista!" Personally, I think that it sucks. It seems like a lot of "bloat ware" and not really anything more than a more visually appealing version of XP, but I like the classic windows style anyway.

Yah, I too agree, none of freinds even run specs lower then the reccomended, none of them at all.

Hell, I even went out and bought my freind a 6600 so he could play source at local LAN (he's a really good freind and is good at source).

I just sold my other agp 6600 to my freind, used it to buy zeanimals Ballistix Tracers.

The specs arnt too high, cept for the hdd space, 15 gigs, I've only got a 74 gig raptor.

Like Snowman said, XP does everything I want it too, It's not that I dont like Vista, just that I dont need to buy it.

Until Dell starts using x64 chips, I dont think it will become mainstream Yet. It will be something like linux for a while, where only the 1337 or IT departments have it.

I for one love the new specs. It makes it incredibly easy to sell more computers now. Most of the people Im selling computers too are people complaining about how slow it is because theyve loaded it up with spyware. I can come in say its bc theyve got a bad computer and sell them a nice new one and make a $100. Plus when I say Windows Vista ready its like Ive said a magic word and theyre almost always sold. Now maybe Im a bad person for doing this (in which case God please forgive me) but Its not like I leave them ignorant. They ussually end up knowing a lot more about computers and ussualy will never install spyware again. All in all its a win-win situation for me.

Anyways as far as Im concerend the specs seem perfectly fine to me especially once I get my new computer plus Windows Vista is only going to be like $7 for me so its worth it to upgrade.

But having more memory still doesnt stop spyware, sure it may not be be more noticable, but it still doesnt solve it.

How did you make it that small? I would love to be running that, it would help my latop no end, I've used nLite to slim it to 3gb but 400mb is immensly small.

Can you point to any nocice client or PC user that has installed a spyware on purpose?

I tend to believe this vista will be an overloaded bloat ware just as much as it is a OS.
Not to mention that M$ will still try to push their overloaded software IE etc...
and other non-essential BS ware on the un-assuming and uneducated consumer.

But thats the state of the market. I'm sure you will take in the $$$ of people that have no clue on what they are buying AND take their money when they complain that there must be a bug in their PC.

Vista seems to be the next PC fix. But come on what does a OS need 15G for?
