Default 9500 or 9700?

should I bust out the extra 100 bucks for a 9700 or just get a 9500?

9500 Pro if you game sometimes.
9700 Pro if you are a hardcore gamer.

Albert, 9600 Pro sucks bigtime, the only way those cards redeem themselves are through straineous overclocking.

Go 9700 pro or reg there both good. but go 9880 reg or pro if you don't want to upgrade in the next year or so.

the 9700 non-pro is definatly the card to get.... full pipelines and mem bandwidth just clocked slower than it's pro brother.

9500 non-pro 4 pipelines 128bit mem controller $139
9500 pro 8 pipelines 128bit mem controller $198
9700 non-pro 8 pipelines 256bit mem controller $240
9700 pro same as non pro just more clock & mem speed. $292
9800 non-pro 8 pipes 256bit mem (more efficient but same core speed at 9700 pro) $279
listed prices are cheapest card all at newegg.com, lower price can be had elsewhere in some cases.

Just dont get OEM versions of the card. Most stories I have heard about those arent good at all. With the OEM versions, ATI can put in slower components such as RAM.
