Default It's a small cruel world we live in

I was driving north on Rt.61 out of Reading Pa yesterday with a co worker heading to Scranton for our first job of the day and as we passed through Port Clinton cars were stopping and pulling over, I saw alot of debis on the road and we (my co worker and I ) pulled off on the shoulder to see if we could help since it was definitly a car crash.
It looked like a small car and a big commercial dump truck decided to tangle. The car was TOTALY mashed and there was debris scattered across all 4 lanes of the highway. It looked like the car exploded on impact! The Dump truck was south bound and ended up on the north bound shoulder pointing north on it's side. As I walked/jogged past the flattened remains of the car I saw the deceased car driver. I continued on to help the truck driver, Me and 2 other guys helped the guy climb out of the wreckage.
The truck's whole front end was gone, the big diesel engine was at an angle and leaking all kinds of fluid. It also looked like the engine itself was cracked or smashed.
I later found out that the car driver aparently got off on the shoulder heading north and over corrected, jumped the 6" high median... flipped then was run over by the rig.
Today I got home early from work and my mom called to tell me one of my neighbor's only daughter, who I grew up with but was only a casual aquaintance had died in a car crash yesterday morning.
I tlod my mom what I had seen without going into the gory details and discovered it was the girl I knew growing up and the vehicle was a 05 Subaru Outback!
The authorities suspect she either was suffering from a heart attack or stroke at the time. They are performing an autopsy today and I guess I'll find out later.
I just thought it was very strange that the most violent car crash I had seen yet ended up being someone I knew growing up.

I realize this site has some members from my area, and is anyone if familiar with or connected to those involved in this mishap reads this I'm not posting it to be sick or anything, I just thought,
"what a coincidence"
I didn't know her personaly but send my sympathies to the family and would like to say that due to the nature of the crash, It was obvious that she definitly did not suffer.

Truly a sad story. Odd thing is I knew a guy who recently died of a car crash. He was sort of a community man who the community knew. He was jay-walking or rather jay-running when a car hit him. He flew and fell on the street where another car fatally ran over him. His funeral was held last friday in public.
Well I am sorry for your loss.

Thats not cool. I heard the news report on that one the other day at work on the radio. Sorry to hear it was someone you knew. It's never a good thing, expecially when you where at the scene when it happened. I know the section of road your talking about and can see how easily an accident could happen up there. I wish the best of luck to you and the surviving families.

Thanks guys. I hadn't seen or talked to her in years, I don't know if it's a blessing or not but to me death is just part of life, don't get me wrong I was messed up for awhile after my dad then grandpa passed.
She definitly didn't suffer following the crash. I was just surprised that it was someone I knew. And alittle guilty for commenting at the scene how how the car driver had to have been totaly irresponsible, then later find out she may have been suffering from a heart attack or stroke that caused the crash.
It was amazing how that car literaly disintegrated, I couldn't even tell what type of car it was. One of the Alloy rims were broke in half ! Well anyway my mom told me tonight that her family was somewhat comforted to hear she didn't suffer.
