What mobo do you have?.........It should have at least 2 IDE ports on it for opticals and such.

I have used one of a 80 gig drive with no issues at all.

only thing you will be doing is dropping the data speed on the ATA line from 150 to max of 133 (Limit of the drive).

I already used up all the IDE connecters... 2 optical and 2 HDDs. I only have 2 more SATA connecters

i have used many of these in my day...

i wouldnt recommend this one...

1st it uses a floppy power connector... look for one that uses a standard 4 pin hdd molex

2nd the way the sata connector is ... it just has the middle part.. nothing surrounding it .. so it can easly snap off

3rd ... you have to plug it into the end of the hdd... that adds another 2 inches on to the hdd... bad for small cases..

4th 7 dollars shipping? ouch

what you want to look for

one where you can plug a sata cable in and a ide calbe in...

or if you cant find one... look for one that is vertical.. and not horizonal

Have you considered a IDE controller card? It will give you good performance and the ability to RAID your IDE drives.
