Default wi-fi pda help

Got me a new Toshiba e740 PDA for a very good price (one that i shall not reveal, for fear of a beating and stolen PDA )..i am a networking nut and a wi-fi nut...but i can't seem to get this damn thing on the internet with the wifi...i'll be sitting next to the access point, and i can type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar on pocket internet explorer, it comes up with the linksys login screen, i input the proper info and am on, i can even see it on the DHCP table....but damnit, it keeps timing out when trying to go to any websites....even WAPs (wireless accessable pages)....someone help, if you can..

well i would try useing connection manager with your pda first. and then do a hot sync after that. i have an ipaq and a compaq wirles card and routerand doing the above worked for me.

what wireles card are you useing?
or is it built in in the 740?

Make sure you set up like the security settings that you have for the wireless network. That's what I'm assuming that linksys screen is

I read that other people have had the same problem as well..but I couldn't find a concerete answer to fix it...A user said that he had to flash his access point to get the wi-fi on the handheld to work.

Good luck though man
