Default Hurt Feelings

This forum is losing relevance because some people are crying that their feelings were hurt by comments from the members. Well, what the hell do you expect?

PimpRig's roots are based in honest and no holds barred commentary. In the early beginning, one had to endure an extended period of ridicule just to be accepted into the forum. We've matured since then and now everybody is welcome, but the extent that people go to ensure no feelings are hurt is now at the other extreme.

If you are a whiney little bitch, I don't want you to be a member of our forum. If you are a whiney little bitch with skill, I still don't want you to be a member of our forum. If you are a level headed person with an opinion, you are welcome. If you are a level headed person with no skills, you are still welcome.

I've seen PR go from one extreme to another. We went from a super elite site that only accepted maybe 1 of 4 new members, to one that accepts all, but only excludes 1 of 1,000 members.

The roots that PR is based upon is honesty, cutting edge and sometimes offensive commentary, and modz that kick ass. I think we need to start heading back in that direction.

There are many vanilla modding sites out there, there are few that include tabasco.

Akita... I'm sure we COULD play nice with the other children... but it wouldn't be near as much fun...

Whiny bitches do make for some interesting commentary... kind of like the tide... things get slow, a litte bitch shows up and starts wanting his mommy... then things pick up again...

Remember the "Am I too Mean" thread? I backed way the frick down because I was being too aggressive. You know what? The site isn't aggressive enough.

Here's a thought Dark, a lot of threads over the last month that have garnered the most attention were started and mediated by High School kids. They have tried to turn PR into a private playground.

reminds me:Where's Coel???????
just to clarify,BA if you remember back a while, people were givin' Coel hell 'cause he was too hard on the gallery postings.if people would stop bitching and bother to look, they'd see from his rigs that he knows what he's talking about.
if people took the criticizm, and used it as a critique instead of a flame, then their own quality of work would improve.
as for threads like "kyle",they're just trash in a diamond mine.they really don't belong and are better ignored and left to die than given a response.
since it's still early, unless something interesting comes up,i think i'm gonna watch paint dry.

I can't find a single word in your statment to disagree with. As a relatively new member (7 months) with very little in the skills department compared to many of the other members, I feel very welcome here. As for the whiney little bitches, who needs them?

if one has to whine to be heard, apparently what one is saying isnt worth listening to.

im not exactly what anyone might call a "high profile" member, nor am i what anyone might call modder elite.
however,i try to think before i post (more often than not)
most times im not long winded when i do post (not that in itself is a bad thing)
i'm here to help when i can,or maybe ask for advice(cuz we all know, this is THE place to get cold truth, good opinion, and the best damn ideas on the web)
playground antics need to stay on the playground.

as stated,i cant find a thing to disagree with there BA.

BTW.....Vanilla Sucks ass.

edited cuz i dont think fast enough.

I found myself thinking the same thing over the past month.
Waaay too many little kids crying to mommy that the big bad members didnt like thier mod or thier picture or something stupid like that.
"they were mean to me mommy, they told me what they thought instead of telling me it was great, waaaaaaa!"

I could never abide by the flaming though, the license to speak your mind about your opinion always seems to lead to kids thinking they can just slam people for no reason. Typical kid mentality.

I have taken a couple of "kids" under my wing.
So they don't have too, shall we say make idiots out of themselves. If they have a simple question and If I know it I'll help them out on my IM. But if I don't, I kinda guide them in where to look and what to ask.

And so far they haven't been poluting the forums with crap.
Its kinda hard to be rough on some one, when you never who's gonna be the next BIG thing.

I for one would be proud to say "Hey, I help'd him get where he is today" or "well I tried, but he didn't listen, maybe next time?"

And well If they don't listen they can go to HE......... well another site. Cause PR is here to stay.

Duck, I remember back just before you came on as the "Bringer of Death and Destruction to all who oppose the world known as PimpRig " ... DW was hackin' out all KINDS of crap... and not in enough time to prevent a lot of crap from staying up for a LOT of people to see it...

It took some time to clean up PR from those days... Akita, if you EVER thought you were bad, you should have met a guy nicknamed "DigitalDevil" back in the old days... Guy had ME howling for his blood, and I'm a pretty laid-back person! (I still have my moments, but usually I don't let people tweak me like that). He'd basically start off a post by saying, "You pound monkey ass" and it only got worse from there... no real skill... just insults.

I believe everyone has the right to say, "Dude... yer mod looks like Rosanne Arnold in a G-string and pasties", but yer right... it went way out with the racial slurs, and just flames for the sake of doin' it...

I mostly keep hangin' here for the regs... It's feels a little slow lately in the forums, but I think PR is just going through a bit of a change right now... a lot of new faces not use to the PR attitude of "If you don't like it, piss off". They're used to havin' most sites say, "We need the hit count! We worship you! Please, use my first-born as a lawn ornament!"

I think once a few more people realize we're not all a horde of pricks, we're just really opinionated, and easily disappointed, PR will enter a second golden age

I also think we're hitting a slow spot because of two things... for one, its summer and there's the people who actually do go outside... and the other reason is because its case painting season... and if you're one of those who has the summer off, you'd be spending time modding and not posting.

I just hope that I'm not on the list of whiny high school kids... I try to keep some decency to my posts... though my age creeps in where it will.

Dont worry about that Outcast, you have been and are a very productive member of PR in my honest opinion.

And Lokie, i know what you mean about taking a few PR members under your wing (errr ...hoof i guess ) And so far they have all turned out well as far as i know

Personaly my opnion is "if you cant stand the heat , stay out of the oven"

Ohhhhhhh! The outside thing! It'll never catch on...

Seriously though, there has been a lot of folks on, just not a lot of posting... a good thread does still spark a lot of posts... PR goes through these lulls... then it picks up and the whole PR experience becomes like crack again (addictive as hell).

BTW: Outcast, yer okay in my book...

Dark, DD and I met very early on. That's why he is no longer with PR. I don't want to take it back to those times.

I have seen posts in the forum where a brand new member calls "bull" against a reg, and everyone just goes "Ahhh, ain't that cute."

I have also been getting PM's from kids stating "Ward, don't you think you were a little hard on the Beaver last night?" Hell no. I think that little Beaver needs a good spanking.

We've gone full circle here. It's time to bring the edge back. That doesn't mean needless flaming, unwarranted insults, or harassment, it means if you are an @sshole, you will be treated as such.
