| Apex Advanced Techie  |  Fiber optic As some might now a little while ago I bought an Ibm Netfinity 5500 m20 server. Well it also came with a weird pci card, and I just tossed it in a box. Well it turns out that it's a Intel Pro/1000 F fiber optic pci adapter. So now at this time I am using the server as a Halo/FTP server. So now my question, is it possable to install this back in my server, install another pci fiber optic card in my other computer and be able to network it directly to the server? I think that the Intel Pro/1000 F uses SC plug type cable. Would I be ablle to upload files to the server? is there a crossover fiber optic cable to net work 2 computers directly together? Please help. Also are there any pci fiber optic cards that work with Windows xp 64? | |
