Default The Matrix Reloaded Indepth.

-= PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE AS IT WILL RUIN IT. GOTO THE THEATER AND WATCH IT YOURSELF =-

Well I went to the matrix yesterday, I think it was a very good movie however unlike the first that was supposed to drag you into the series this one is dragging you into the next movie. There were some parts that were disappointing however it doesnÂ’t affect the movie in its entirety.

I think that a lot of people have overlooked the complexity of this movie, I know the people I saw it with did. They did not see have of the little intricate scenes that were so well subtle that they just melt in your mouth when you realize it. They focused on the how the fight scenes where played and the CGI glitches at whatnot.... HELLO its the matrix thatÂ’s not the point of the movie its the little things that are so intertwined that when you finally unravels them you come up with some conclusion that was
nothing like you were thinking in the first place.

My friend even said "what was up with that spoon thing, like I know it was in the first movie but i think it was stupid that they had it in this one." oi.

Now for the Long and Painful looking into the movie, it would seem that the matrix encompasses more than what we were lead to believe, did anyone notice that they still are in the matrix? (Again I know my friends didn't) Like the architect said this was the 6th time that they had met, and the
6th time that zion had been destroyed... well hello, if that wasn't the most obvious line in the movie... how could zion be destroyed more than once when it doesnÂ’t exist in the matrix.??? They avoid saying it strait out but even at the very end of the movie when they are running from the centinals.... Neo can feel them.... Neo doesnÂ’t have his super human
characteristics outside of the Matrix so why does he have them now?

Now we look back at the rest of the movie because now it seems that it all makes sense. Like the monk kid giving neo the spoon "there is no spoon" the line that must be engraved in everyoneÂ’s mind by now, is it some pointless event like my friend had thought? NO, come on people... this is the FIRST foreboding element of this movie, sure it doesnÂ’t make any sense at the time but the Lowinsky Brothers like to work that way, through in an element that will not make any sense until the last second of the movie when it comes like a rush of clarity and mostly everything makes sense.... The next major scene would have to be the meeting with the oracle like we realized in the first movie her advice in no way forward, but rather what
later will seemed to be like a theme in this movie her advice is "a means to an end." this is a very important concept to understand.

In the first movie the oracle tells neo that he is not the one, this
information alters his thinking and directs him in a path to become the one. Which was a means to an end.

In this conversation neo is also given a short insight into what the oracle and her protector are, rouge programs hiding from being deleted. Programs that no longer have any use. However, in this conversation we are left with a lingering sense of confusion still. how can a program tell the future, how does she know all this stuff about whatÂ’s going to happen... well... again this is one of the elements that doesnÂ’t make sense until the end of the movie. She knows because itÂ’s happened before, in fact its happened 5 times before.

The oracle in this conversation gives neo a piece of paper and a time and says to be there at that exact time to get the key maker. Someone who can help them get to where they need to go. When the conversation ends neo is confronted with what seems to be a reborn agent smith, if you remember this is the agent that neo flew into at the end of the movie and his body
exploded in the hallway of the motel. It seems as though that like neo, smith has also come back. This time however he isn't part of the system that is the matrix he is a rouge element, in fact if you look at it he is a virus. He can change the code that makes a person in the matrix to replicate himself. DonÂ’t ask why he is here I havenÂ’t figured that one out! This is one of those questions that must be answered in the last movie, because it raised a lot more than it answered in this movie.

Continuing... Neo goes to the place where the oracle has told him to be at that exact time. Here he meets the comic relief for this movie, I liked this scene very much it was like wiping my ass with silk! lol... however i did think that the pie scene was a little much i don't think the movie needed that at all. anyway this guy that they are meeting is a rouge program like the oracle however it seems that this guardian of the key maker does seem to want to give him up (this scene literally hammers the
cause and effect / a means to an end concept like I said seems to become a theme of this movie.) So they leave being a bit confused all but morphious who has a sense of assurance that everything will be ok which it seems it will be, as this has just unfolded the guardians mistress as she was referred to comes down to spite her lover and give neo morphious and trinity the key maker but not before she asks for a kiss from neo (oi I
wish movie makers didnÂ’t have to cater to 90% of the population that will not see these little important parts.) anyway neo kisses this chick and she leads them to the key maker who seems to be expecting himÂ… hmmmmÂ… how did he knowÂ…. Again being a program of the matrix this would be the 6th time that he has been taken.

The next part of this movie was strictly for effects its about 10 minutes of fighting and cgi does it have any relation to the story that is being told… do the sisters have a meaningful part in this story no. other than it has the characters in the movie.. no … do the movie producers have good taste in bikes … yes… but this sense was basically there to “out due” the first movie in the effects aspect. It was a cool scene but it was a little long.

Anyway after this scene they sit down with the key maker and find out what they need to do to get to where he “needs” to go. Apparently there is a building in which there is a level where no elevator or stairs will get to. This level has lots of doors that lead to various places in the matrix however one of these door leads to the core (where the architect is). However this building is hooked up to many explosives that have to be disarmed before he can open this door…. The plot thickens… again this was added to be one of those, better than the last movie scenes. Anyway im going to skip to the hallway scene where they run into a bunch of agent smiths. Now in this scene something interesting happens and I can’t quite figure out what it is. In this scene all the voices become slightly distorted at times. Actually it happened once before in another scene and I thought it might have been just a glitch in the film strip… maybe it is… but I’m thinking that agent smith replicating himself that many times has become detrimental to his health… maybe he smokes too.

Anyway while neo and morpheous are fighting the smiths, the key-maker sneaks in a door and comes out behind them to open a door to level in the building that no stairs or elevators get to. Once it is open neo files through the agents and closes the door the key maker closes the door but not before he is shot multiple times. He tells morpheous what door he must go through and gives neo a key, and tells him that he will know which door that he will need to go though. Morpheous leaves and neo opens the door and is engulfed with a bright white light and all of the sudden he is standing in the room with the architect.

And now we are back at the scene with the architect, negating the stuff that I have already told you about him. I think its interesting to note that I donÂ’t believe that he should be trusted as to what he is saying is actually taken seriously. The whole movie they are talking about a means to an endÂ… so how could you?

Yeah I saw the movie last night at 10:45 pm.

Dr. Who well written, I was slightly disappointed with the movie being split into 2 movies. Left a bad taste in my mouth when it ended so abrupt. Almost like the first Lord of the Rings.

OMG....someone did not know about the spoon? LMAO

I loved how they built on the perspective of the matrix about the previous Centinals. Oracle calls them older programs...i.e. Vampires, Ghost Twins or even "Smith".

Thank you Wisper,

Just to let you know there are actually going to be three movies!
The Matrix
The Matrix : Reloded
The Matrix : Revolutions

This was the way that the brothers wanted to do it from the first place.

Im really suprised at some of the reviews i have read so far... i wish they had comment boxes because i swear some of these people didn't even watch this movie! one went as far to say "where is the brain candy" .... I WAS LIKE ARE YOU BLOODY BLIND SIR? i know that the messages in this one were slightly harder to interpret from the first however they were no means hard to pick out.

well like the first movie, reloaded is filled with the many scenes and themes that are left up to the mind of the viewer to interpret.

besides philsophical ideas, there are biblical connnections and even connections to people's lives (like socrates's life for hte frist matrix)

one of the main reasons why i liked the matrix, and the matrix reloaded so much is that you can enjoy the movie for its surface content, or you can look deeper for hidden allusions, references and other goodies that you have to have some knowledge to understand

Sigh... Just saw it and honestly want my money back. I understand that they hadly ever left the matrix. I nderstand the whole thing. My problem is that if Neo is Mr. awesome superman, who can bend and shape the matrix around him somewhat, if he can stop 3 clips of bullets then what is to stop him from just turning his enimies into a goldfish ot some crap? If you can stop and freeze a bullet, why cant you just turn it around and send them back? The movie was so full of holes is my problem.

A much better story for the second movie would have been going back in time to when the machines first started to take over...how they were made...the first sentinal...just..Blah. Could have been so much more. too much was put into FX and not story.

First off, if you didnt enjoy the movie then, no, you didnt get it. It was over your head.
Second, Just because Neo can stop bullets doesnt mean he can start them. Thats like saying "How come if my brakes can stop my truck from 60-0 in 4 seconds, I cant go from 0-60 in 4 seconds?" or even better, "How come if my brakes can stop my truck from 60 -0 in 4 seconds...I can't turn that cop into a goldfish?"
He can MANIPULATE the Matrix, the MACHINES run the code!
He is still learning and the twins have tricks that Neo does not also, so...
The only holes are in your thinking.

The Matrix was written as a three part story before the first one was filmed. For you to say you know better is just silly.
Again, if you say there wasnt enough story in it, then it was definitely WAAAAAAaaaay over your head and you need to stick to Barney or Seseme Street.

Duck, it wasnt over my head. I really like the story. Its something that makes you think, and leaves some wonder and thought with you when you see it. I totally understand that Neo is still learning, and that the machines are in charge of the code. I guess what got to me about the movie was that some of the fight scenes just seemed drawn out. Like the one after the guy (cant remember name) sends that one woman cake, and all that... That scene was a bit much.
Another thing that I guess affected my thinking was I couldnt get into the movie and pick up all the details, I kept getting distracted by others around me. I am going to go see it again today and reavalute my thinking

Add; yeah, the Adam-12 was pretty cool.

In reading Ben's comments I think that more people will have the opinion of not liking this movie. Don't get me wrong I loved the movie it drew me in. But The Matrix (1st movie) did not leave many loose threads or at least the ideas were pretty easy to understand (i.e. when Neo saw the Black cat glitch and said deja vu). While this movie had a given a lot of information at a fast rate and some information being less revealing.

BTW, the Architect, is he a program as well?

Oh and did you notice that all those small security TV's that were around the architect was actually shown breifly in the first matrix. Remember when Tom Anderson (Neo) was getting interviewed by Agent Smith just after he turned himself in while trying to escape the agents from work? They went from a view of small security TV's to the room.
