Yes, that's right, it's time to vote!! Now, I'm not sure how many of you have been following, but a while back, a forum member who's name we can't remember (Correction! It seems that Twizted was the creator! Everyone, give this pimp props for helping us get F@H set up MUCH more easily!) designed an installer for the Folding @ Home Console version that gathered your username from you and automatically set everything up, including the configuration, so all we had to do was let it run. They also found a utility that allowed you to minimize an open console window to your TaskBar tray, and included that in the installation, as well.

The problem is, the version of the F@H Core that the installation uses is VERY out of date . . . a full 2 versions out of date, to be sure. Just by upgrading to the current core, you can often increase your folding potential by a full 50%. To that effect, GlitterKill asked if anyone had the tools to update the installer (thread is here). It was about 7 months later that I decided to try tackling this project.

To that end, I petitioned the forum for some art (thread is here). Now, I got a few submissions and you, the general public, the evenutual end users of the updated Setup program, are going to vote on them. With no further ado, here are the submissions (in alphabetical order by submitter):

definitely some solid work on that second entry.

Very close between Spikes and Bionics second set. Had to be Spikes though. As much as I like Bionics second set, the image fonts don't match and it just looks slightly mis-matched.

Dex you might be looking at the wrong one. In the first set the fonts are different. In the second set they are all the same. No biggie, though

Lol yeah sorry I meant the first one, which I like very much, but the three different type faces knock it down a bit imho.

Yeah I agree I didn't like that one so much myself. It was sort of cobbled together out of the request of GK that we incorporate his sweet banner from the main Team@Pimprig page, and my desire to incorporate the official PR logo as well. I didn't have the PR font (and still don't), so I just had to throw something in for the 3rd font

I let go of those constraints for the second one I wanted to do a 3rd, but I just didn't have any time to work on it, since the boss has been riding me like a motorized wheelchair the past couple of weeks.

::EDIT:: also, I don't think that you ever see both logos at the same time during the install, so the fact that they are not coherent in design may or may not matter

Can someone please answer a question for me, **nobody's home here to ask** Is Spike's entray , the bottom one, green, grey, or blue?? and im not tryin to be humerous , i'm color blind , and although i like it very much , the backround , to me , looks , for lask of a better description, old and dingy grey . I'm not trying to insult you Spike , so please dont take offence. I know its just MY eyes making it this way , so i'd like someone else to tell me the actual color.

Spike's entry is a bluish-grey, about the same color as the PR logo background (or even the "Post Reply" button background in the forums). SaltDaddy's second entry is blue

::EDIT:: Oh and if anyone cares about this sort of thing, those blobby deals in my second entry are a stylized representation of a surface of a protein.

I'd say it's similar to the color if blue slate stone. Or a heavily overcast sky.
A Blueish Grey. Actually, it's the closest to the PimpRig colors used on the site, IMO.
SD's first is grey too, but not as close to PR colors. His second is blue.

I like the entries.... I just wanted to step in and say I was responcible for that original installer with Trayit.... I have already got in touch with droug and plan to help him with it... good work on the art peeps

Some I like the artwork, but don't care for the slogan as much. Was anyone planning to post some revisions?

Spike, Sorry about the miscommunication. I'm getting quite rushed here on my end. Between work, the preparations for the family vaca back home in Maine, work, and working on this, things are getting quite rushed. Shoot me a pm and let me know an estimate on how much time you'd need to whip up another entry (or more, if you want). I can just reset the poll and let it run a week longer.

Hey drougnor, your work here is definitely appreciated, and I for one thank you. I can also relate to your holiday rush. Make sure to take the time to slow down and enjoy yourself.

I voted Bionic 2nd submission has a lot of class and flare to it with some really cool graphics, nice job Bionic i give you the and to the rest of you great job well done.

I have to go with Bionic's second entry, also for the cleanliness of the image. It's a little sparse, however, in the message ... I like Spike's message "Cause humanity needs us" (although one might use the full word "because" in this case, since we're folding for a cause ... which might confuse people, and it irritates me grammatically , and I also like SaltDaddy's take on the God / Adam finger touch, which is a fantastic metaphore for what we're doing here.

Some amalgamation of these would be spectacular, but that's probably just me asking for far too much.
