| everyone knoes about the next secret airplane Aurora that by many does exist but gourverment say such a plane does not exist....yeah!,yeah! we know all about the bs from the gourverment ... anyhow i remember watching a show on tv (more then a year ago) about UFO & they where also talking about the new secret airplane Aurora that many saw that airplane flying by , they even got an interview with a guy (don't remember is name) that worked on airplane carrier boat & was a guy who was train to recognize airplane in the sky & he said that he saw an triangular shape airplane get refueling by a tanker in the air with other airplanes jet he recognize the tanker & the jets (wich i don't remember the name of it) but was not able to recognize the triangular airplane wich he thought it meant be the new secret airplane Aurora? so one night a was looking on P2P for UFO , secret airplane etc.. got a lot of bs but alot a good things too. Then came across a picture that remind me of that tv-show a year ago wich the navy guy told about an triangular airplane refueling then i thought to my self , that's what the guy was talking about & maybe it's the same guy that took the picture or somebody else & put it on internet? anyhow the picture could be a hoax to? but i do believe it real. | ||

no way in hell take a closer look of the picture (zoom) & you'll see it got nothing to do with the stealth fighter you wont see the front gun in the picture & even at this angle you would see the space between the wings wich you dont in the picture but a stealth bomber (b2) could be a closer match? but i steal believe it's the new secret plane so call aurora

Compared to the F-111s 22 meters the mystery aircraft seems to be a bit longer than those, while the F117 is actually only 20 meters long. Cool pictures in this thread I wish they would unveil something soon, its been a while.

| When I was at the Reno Air Races with my Dad in 1996, they had one of the first "Official" public veiwings (Not too close though!) of the F-117 stealth Now this was shortly after I had gotten out of the Air Force where I had been a Jet engine mech on F-16's and F-4's, so I had to check out the new "toy" and of course, take some pictures of it. (I used a throw away Panoramic View camera mainly to get some spectacular shots in the desert as they raced around pylons at 500MPH!) I examined the photos in detail, my former miltary experience had taught me how to read the markings on the tail number as part of my daily job, so It was through force of habit that I would look there first. I was quite surprised to see it had been manufactured in 1982! I was staring at a 14 year old aircraft that had just been made public... knowing how slow it is for the military to develop top secret hardware, it meant if it was in mass production in the early 80's , then the prototypes had to be flying around in the late seventies, wich were probably means it was based of designs made in the mid 70's! Now the only reason we even new of it's existance was becasue of the first Gulf War, I doubt it would have been made public at that time otherwise. So..if they were able to come up with the "Stealth" based on 70's technology, with the advances in computer technolgy since then, can you imagine what they have flying around today in the "Prototype" stage, let alone on the drawing boards! Rumors of "Pulse Jet" based hypersonic Aircraft have been around for many years, my bet is it's real (Dunno about those photos though, to easy to fake stuff) or something very similar, and they have had it for quite some time... ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 17-November-05 at 04:31 AM.. | ||

| The way the engine works in that plane is some real whiz-bang technology. I'd explain it but I gotta go to work. They had someting about it on the Discovery Wings channel a while back that explained how this technology worked, google Ramjet, I think that was the term. | ||

| The popular belief is that Aurora has some kind of Ramjet/Pulse jet engine... anyway several contrails have been spotted along with strange geological recordings (sonic booms register on geological sensors). ![]() The Aurora is synonymous with this type of pearlband contrail... I dont know if its hoax or not but it looks kinda cool... The thing that strikes me the most is the liquid cooling system they supposedly use ie the same system that keep the muzzle of the spaceshuttles internal engine cool. A craft going at mach 6 is going to be hot even if they use the electromagnetic beam principle that creates a beam of ionized gas infront of the craft that is supposed to reduce air friction by 50%... This was on discovery yesterday ![]() | ||

| Not such a far cry from star trek / stargate like technology with the "intertial dampeners" (reducing g-forces by up to 75% in Star Gate, and removing the risk of becoming a molecular splat on the back wall in Star Trek ![]() Current jet engines are obviously a no go...even the shuttle proposed primary engines for the next gen space craft aren't good enough - ram jets sound about right - they are going to be used on commerial planes if all goes to plan (once a secure navigation system is put in place in the skys), but no doubts military has first dibs. How long has this triangular paper weight been in development anyway? ![]() | ||

The F-117 doesn't have a gun. The four tubes sticking out of the front are pitot tubes. They collect airpreasure data for the computers that allow the airplane to fly straight. Most airplanes have two, but because of the f-117's redundancy systems they have 4 mounted on it.

| There's no doubt in my mind that the government is making top-secret aircraft and I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of them. It's cool news, but doesn't make me freak out about gov't secrecy or anything. This is a pretty cool thread, goodman. I'd throw you some rep if I could | ||

| Apex Tech Maniac | As far as I know, the Aurora spy plane DOES exist in one incarnation or another. The picture (first one posted) does look like it. While information is sketchy, it was actually published, partially, in a game called "ATF" published by Jane's Information Group. I don't have that game loaded anymore (actually, I don't even know where my install disks are come to think of it), but it did hava blurb about it. And Jane's is a reliable source of information about this stuff. (Often referred to as the civilian intelligence group AND they also live up to that name VERY well.) Based on everything I know, it's definitely not Northprop-Grumman B-2, Lockheed-Martin F-117, or the F-111 Tornado. (I forget the name of the manufacturer of that. I THINK that it's something like Pavlova or something like that. Can't remember). I never found out the Air Force designation for the Aurora spy plane. I do know that it was around as early as 1991. From what I remember, the cruising speed is around Mach 5.17 and it has a top speed of higher than Mach 6. I don't remember the cruising altitude either, and that the onboard camera was designed to be able to focus on something about as small as a golf ball (or a medium sized orange/grapefruit) from that altitude.) Pretty crazy, pretty cool if you ask me. (Reminds me of the ad that I saw recently how they had a picture of an unmanned plane and the caption on the bottom of it says: "To us, this is old school.") Pity that there isn't more R&D activity like that. I swear, it is my goal to change that, and to make it known to the public that I am doing research. It's time that we get those flying cars off the ground (so to speak.) | |

I don't necessarily know if it's for "redudancy" per se. The F-117 may have the four pitot tubes because it's a quadriplex fly-by-wire system (since that was the only way they managed to get the thing to be stable). I mean, they COULD be using it for redudancy, but I think that the primary reason for them having 4, is cuz that's the minimum to keep the thing flying in the first place. (I would guess it's one of those things where if they DIDN'T have four, the plane (both in early testing and in the simulations) would have done a tilt-tilt-crash scenario.)

"if i could" i don't see why not? (2 other people give me rep point in other threads) but so far i'm still stock with only 1 green square i dont understand how it works & someone already post me the link about it but i still don't get it so i just put this aside & move on...

presuming you would be able to actually HIT the target kamakaze style first. (what the hell are you going to hit at like some 160,000 ft?) meteor? yet another falling NASA shuttle? (assuming that it doesn't explode first).
