Wow! Thats something i thought would never happen. An interchangeable board. And i thought ECS was a cheap brand, turns out they are on the cutting edge.

Hate to burst bubbles..its been out and around the review sites for a whille now. They also do Socket 478 and 479 adapters. Very flexible board, but a combination of poor chipset selection and cooling has crippled its potential.

I read an interesting article over at [H] about how ECS is really trying to change their reputation and image. They are offering some decent motherboards now with their "Extreme" line of boards. While they have their downsides, they actually offer excellent performance for a damn good price.

ECS's NF4 offering actually got good reviews and overclocks right up there with the LanParty and A8N-SLi.

when I go 64-bit I'm seriously considering one of their boards. ECS has always been known for ingenuity. I have a baby-AT motherboard of theirs that not only supports Coppermine P3 1ghz but has onboard everything even 10/100 LAN. Remember the celeron days? Who brought you the Slot 1 / Socket 370 on one board? ECS.

My first PC I custom built had a K7S5A Pro 5.0 in it. I loved that motherboard. I loved it so much I went and picked up another one recently after upgrading to a DFI LP NF2

Think if you could run both chips at once! You could have a kick a$$ gameing rig and a video editing rig all in one......

Can't really think of a practical use for such a motherboard... but then again it might make a pretty versitile test rig or something.

"Hmm... I don't feel like running my P4 today, I think I'm going AMD 939..." Lol

Maybe it could help reviewers compare different socket/brand processors, like in that article... ya know without the hassle of switching all the components like video card and hard drives and stuff... **scratches the bottom of the barrel** yup thats all.
