Well, next Saturday will be my last day at my current job. My boss decided he no longer needs me. I have never gotten a 2 week notice from a boss, usually i give notice, or just get fired! We are parting on good terms, I still consider him a friend.

Well, I came up with an idea for my own buisness, just need some opinions about it.

I am currently taking A+ and Cisco CCNA classes. I have about a year to go. Being a single person, I can comfortably live on around $300 to $400 a week. I came up with the idea to start a small sign and banner company. I would 'rent' my old bosses vinal cutter and use his stock (with him making a small profit). He seemed very receptive to the idea.

Of course if it works out, I would get my own plotter and supplies, but for a startup company, there is no expence for me except my time.

With the equipment he has, I can cut 24" letters. You can also do a reverse, and use it as a stencle for painting. I do know that at some point, if I am succesfull, I would have to get a buisness licence and all of that.

Let me know what you think, I have a storeroom I could convert into a work area. The markup on small signs is high!

Too bad you arn't in the NOLA area. The business for small sign makers has increased 100 fold over night.

Serisously, there are at least 20-30 signs at every traffic light. The small sign business down here is making some serious change. EVERY single business that is open is buying 50-100 signs to let people know. They are also making more signs to try to hire people.

Its insane, I will have to take a few pics for ya.
