Default How do you fill up? (POLL)

Just an odd question I have and no other way to answer it then a poll......

When you fill up your vehicle and the pump clicks off..........do you stop there or do you squeeze more gas in; and if so are you doing this to get more gas in or just to get the amount to a round number for easier payment.

all I know is, when you start pumping, dont squeeze it all the way because the full amount of gas doesnt come out immidietly, yet it charges you for it...

I used to top it off - but I've learned with this new truck I can't even get a quarter gallon more in without it spitting out. :S

I'm trying to squeze as much in as I can get. That way I don't have to stop again until
Cincinnati or Cleveland.

I'm with Erad. I lived in NJ untill they took my drivers license away. Then I moved to Florida and I now ride my bike everywhere. Maybe one of these years I'll get that DL back. It's been over 4 . . . .

I stop. I always fill before there's less than a gallon left as it's most convenient (I fill up on a weekly basis because of how much I drive) and so there's no reason to try and top it off.

Plus, don't most automanufacturers discourage against it for whatever reason?

I have never payed for gas with cash in my life, i dont even know what the deal is with not paying at the pump, so roundings out. Once it clicks i set it again till it clicks a second time then i top it off just a bit. I've never spilled.

Adding to the cost of fuel. I tell you when I found out how much it takes to accept credit cards I quit using them. I ussually only put 20 bucks a week so I never fill up.

Get yourself a fleet fuel card. I had to, I couldn't stand the pump attendants.

Question

is like a license to pump fuel or somthin....do i have to take a class, cause that would be cool to piss off the attendents and have them yell at me for pumping myself and like have them call the cops but then i could just flash the card and make them look stupid..lol

Depends on the car, in my Monte, I try and get every last drop in...I keep seeing that scene from Days of Thunder, "and an extra long fuel line." I also have an 82 Bronco that I have to bump around a bit. It has some sort of funky curvature in the line down to the tank that will cause the pump to cut off early. A couple of bumps and I can fill it to the top.

In my truck the pipe is so small, by the time it clicks the gas squrts out the top and on to my feet. so i dont try for that extra drop. Now in any outher car i try to round it up so i dont walk around with a pocket full of pinnies.

By the time I get to my 38th gallon and filled 1 gallon has already dissipated so I just keep pumping till I have to be somewheres.
