Default New X-Prize Cup!

Hey everyone.
I know that this is a little off topic for a PC Site such as PimpRig, but I thought that some of yall would like to know that the next X-Prize will be announced on October 9th 2005

Now, something else is happening in the news if you didn’t know, NASA announced that it was not going to land on the moon again until 2018. Because of this, rumors have started circulating that the committee in charge of the ‘X-Prize Cup’ has decided at the last min to change the goal of the challenge, with instead of the teams just having to build a space craft able to dock with the ISS; that they also have to be able to land on the moon.

What do you think? Will the next X-Prize have teams trying to land on the moon, doing what NASA cant? Or maybe you think that this whole contest is a waste of time and resources?

I am a giant space fanatic so I look forward to everyoneÂ’s comments and views.

Space really boggles my mind, but I suppose any further research to improve space exploration is welcome.
Havn't seen you post around here much, this is pretty nice start. Stick around!

Hey, TYCOON.
Thanks for the welcome. I will stick around for sure. I have always been a big browser of PimpRig, and with my first case build, I figure it was about time for me to register and contribute back to the community.

As far as the X-Prize, I personally hope that the contest will be to land on the moon. WouldnÂ’t it be great for a privately funded group to do what NASA (with now a $16.4 Billion budget) could not?
Think about itÂ…
