| I finally found the article I was looking for..
Heh doesnt it make sense that if you have the money for a high speed connection, you would have money to buy a $15 Album? Hehe...So when the RIAA comes knocking on my door I guess I could use the excuse, "Oh They gave me permission to download their Album"... link:http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2005/05/2007.cfm | |||||||||||||||||||||

| heh ....were they under the influence of loud music when they gave the statement? Mind you - a couple of bands over here stated they wern't fussed about the use of napster distributing free downloads of their own albumns so maybe this would pass through as well? | ||

| I would rather spend 20 bucks or + to see them play there best songs in concert rather than spending 20 bucks on a CD for 1 or 2 songs. But we have discussed this to many time here at PR. I bet over 20 times? Anyways, does anyone like System of a Down? I have liked there music....good music to play right after getting off work thats for sure! | ||

| recently went to see them live and they were great... theres a thread about it somewhere. i own all of their albums though, i like them a lot. i buy cd's whenever i can, especially since most of the music i listen to is obscure jambands that dont make millions of dollars with their music | ||

| Sounds like the case of Primus. I forget the bass players name but he said once "Well the new album is out and the songs are on the website because I know you guys just download them anyways." Its nothing new, sublime has a site up with just about every song they have ever played available for download. | ||

| Because of their ****ty deals with the record companies, bands hardly make any money off album sales anyway, so its not suprising they dont care if people download it. The real money is in the touring, not even ticket sales, since clear channel or whoever gets most of that. If you like a band and really want to support them, buy a t-shirt. | ||

| All i have to say in this matter is that my band Soul Feed is not going to charge people for downloading our songs. screw the RIAA, screw the recording industry. technology has nearly made them obsolete and that's why they are sweating over downloading and copywrite infringement. | ||

| If I like a single song on an album, I'll sample them on iTunes. If it seems >50% are good, I'll buy the album on iTunes and then rip the DRM(burn/rip, hymn, SharpMusique, et. al.) so I can use them on my Palm and my laptop without Apple's permission to do so. Regardless, I haven't pirated (no, it is NOT stealing) any music in quite a long time now that the industry has (almost) embraced technology. | ||
