Default /stupid question

as of late i've been thinking of ways to let cubicle101 fans to get thier hands on something that is "cubicle101" such as little plush cubicle monkeys, posters, t-shirts, etc etc etc.

While I have good ideas for all of those things, there is always one thing that stands in the way of progress. the evil "M" word, you guessed it, money. So, in light of that I came up with a possible solution to help fund along some of the larger ideas that more people can get into.

I'm considering putting up the original artwork from cubicle101 for auction on ebay. I could go two ways with it depending on which comics go up for sale like, signed and numbered (limited qty) prints of the originals; or signed originals themselves.

So the question I bring before the PR following (because there's many fans here) is if something like this should go up for auction on ebay, how many would actually be interested in buying a peice of paper with a bunch of ink on it?

I'm not sure how CafePress works, but were you talking about something like that as far as merchandising? That is how the PR store is set up, so I'm sure someone around here knows the details...

It's my understanding that you don't have to pay them money to start, but I could be totally wrong.

i have a cafepress shop set up but nothing is currently in it. with what cafe press charges, profit margin is really low compared to bulk ordering and doing the shipping yourself.

there are a few other companies out there that specialize in graphic tshirt printing, some specificlly for webcomics which have some pretty competative pricing. but it all still costs money to get going.

i just don't like cafepress for the fact that you have to charge almost $30 for a shirt just to get any kind of profit, and they have such a limite range on items.

I figured as much... Good luck getting it going yourself, then. I'm sure that the initial investment is a risk, but one that will pay off in the long run.

I would say, if you do go the eBay way. Put some of it up here, first. Depending on what kinda prices you would ask for. I may go ahead and get a one of a kind thing.
