Default Domino the Dalmation: Memorial

I really don't know where to put this, but just understand that this is not meant to make anyone sad or upset but it is meant as a place for me to remember my recently departed pet. This afternoon just after a monthly "wash" my pet dog for 6 years passed away after what the doctor says must have been a massive heart attack or stroke. The details aren't important. I thought though I'd leave you with a couple of pictures I've taken of him over the years, just so you know what me and my family are going through right now. I'll edit them and size them down later...maybe.

We really didn't "baby" our dog he was just like that all the time. We rescued him from a shelter almost 6 years ago to the day. I must say it's going to be especially hard for my mother and my sister given that all three of us children are moving away to college in less then a month and I'm leaving on wednesday.

The only thing that I can think of to sum this up appropriately is a few words I've only realized now that he's not running around the house or in the backyard: You just really don't know how much they mean to you when you can't run to the other side of the house to see them, or come home from a semester at college and be appretiated and appretiate their presence.

Sorry to hear about Domino. We have two Dalmatians also and they are our "babies" now that our daughter has moved away. Magie and Blu are brother and sister and are twelve years old. I know what you're going through as we also had their mother until, at seven years old, we had to put her down due to cancer.

My heart was broken when Harley passed. After over a year, I am still not over it. I don't know if I will ever be, but that is fine. He was that special to me.

I know what loss you are feeling, and I extend my condolences.

Damn, Wellmont. Sorry to hear about your dog, and an odd enough coincidence, I lost a pet yesterday, too. Although I'm just not sure what happened to him. I also had a dog get hit by a car a couple months back, we had him for almost 7 years...I know what how one gets attatched to just the presence of a pet, not necessarilly loving it like you should all the time, but it's just the point that they're "man's best friend." That cliche is so true.

My dogs run free on our 2.5-acre of land on the side of a mountain, and they love it. One of them actually runs around the whole mountain, and has for a year or two now. I think that's when they're the happiest. However, either Hercules (a full-grown, 200 lb. St. Bernard) wandered too far away from home, or someone came and took him from us. No word from the dog pound, none of the neighbors...nothing. He just dissapeared a couple days ago. I don't know what's worse, seeing your dog die or not knowing what happened to him.

I'm really sorry to hear about you and your family's loss. My condolensces.

Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is very hard. We lost our Clyde 13 months ago, and I still miss him. Having our other two dogs has helped , but the space he left is still there.
