| In normal traffic I get bored easily, traffic here moves very slow around "rush hour", I don't even know why it's called that if everyone is going like 25 in a 50. Now at the track or on a deserted road with no sidestreets or places for police to hide, that's another story ![]() | ||

| To be honest with you, I got my beginner's/learner's permit when I was 15-years-old, had my license when I turned 16 and had my own truck to drive. I drove everywhere for quite some time. I mean, probably for about a year I drove around wherever I could have somewhere to go. Now, at age 19, I'm so burned out with driving that it feels unexplainably good to be able to sit and ride in the passenger seat. You may or may not get tired of it when you run out of places to go, but I guess it all depends on your vehicle. If I had a Mustang or something, I'd probably enjoy driving much more. The sad thing is, people around here drive like retards and I can't enjoy it because it turns into an episode of road rage. Bleh. Ramble, ramble, ramble. | ||

| Screw gas prices, I have a Hemi. I pull around 13 in town right now. I got my first car, (to drive, not owned) at around 11. Things were like that back then in North Dakota. The old man would get trashed and I would drive him home. I have never lost the enjoyment of piloting a vehicle, but now that I am older it is a whole lot more fun to pilot a vehicle pushing 370 HP. | ||

Dang. Have you got anything done to that motor? I know my fair share about mid-'60s Mopars, but I couldn't tell you a whole lot about hardly any kind of new cars. They don't make 'em like they used to... In the Charger, I pull about 5-6mpg in the city. ![]()

| Hell, I never get tired of driving ...............well, I did a year and a half ago.........that was when I worked 8 hrs, then drove straight down to Georgia (from Port Huron, MI), had an interview, drove straight back to Michigan and then went back to work for 8 hrs. I drove a total of 1784 mi in 33 hours............. That was the only time I was tired........... | ||

| I love driving, except here in the city after about 10 am, mad traffic anywhere you go, 30 mins to get anywhere. THat may not seem like alot but San Francisco is only 7 sq miles. Plus everyone drives like a maniac. I love pushin 360 horses tho , lotta big hills here I throw it in 1st and beat little BMW's that can fit in my truck bed. | ||

| well ba i wouldnt care about gas prices so much if it wasnt a poor college student. you either have a job or are retired with enough money to live off of (cant remember if youre retired or not, im sure youve said it). either way the point is you probably have more money than me. in the meantime, driving my car isnt that fun (140hp accord, yay... ) but i do enjoy it because it has a killer 3500$ sound system that rocks my world. i did get the chance to drive my uncles 450 hp all wheel drive audi rs6 tho, and let me tell ya i would never get tired of driving that thing!!! wow 450 hp and 415lb-ft of torque in an extremley luxurious sedan is something you dont forget. too bad he just killed it... he was towing it back from an open road race he entered in nevada behind his prevost motorcoach and somehow the trailer became unhitched, went off the road and smashed th car up . not triple checking to make sure it was attached properly turns out to be a 95,000$ mistake, and the car is not replaceable since audi only made 4000 of them (1000 came to america). i think that the insurance company is gonna pay to have it totally fixed so thank god for that, id miss that car if he had to get rid of it.. unless he replaced it with a mercedes E55 AMG or something ![]() haha sorry about that long and somewhat unrelated story. my dream car is a ferrari f430 spyder so hopefully someday, but its an extremley lofty goal to be sure | ||

Correct me if I am wrong but wasnt the hemi engine introduced to be more fuel efficient? With the spark plug located right on top of the piston head should that allow for a better burn of the gas?You will get tired of driving when you realize how much it costs to do so. Nowadays I prefer to ride in someone elses car.

Actually most of us call it the semi-hemi. It's actually a better design than a true hemispheric combustion chamber though (doesn't require huge heavy pistons, and better burn pattern). It's 2 valves per cylinder, 2 spark plugs per cylinder. Increased fuel economy over the 5.9L it replaced - especially in certain models with cylinder de-activation (Don't think Caddy, it's a lot different/more reliable system). Between it's "multiple displacement" and fly by wire system it does net better fuel numbers, but you've got to remember you've moving 5,000 lbs of steel and plastic with 5.7L of displacement. You won't get 30+mpg on the highway but they did manage to get 2 more mpg over what the 5.9 was capable of in the Rams.
