So I understand the wife and kids struggle ...

I believe there are no royalties - the RIAA is messed up like that.

But they have held on to this UGLY piece of jewelry SINCE 2000 when he died? Why - if they struggle?

Good point. Struggling kids/wife. And a $100k piece just layin around. hmm. It is one ugly piece of steel. Maybe it was hidden in the walls, stored in the freezer and forgotten, or a friend had it and was being haunted.
