Default Have you guys seen 4th25?

www.4th25.com

I don't know if anyone has posted it here yet or if you guys have seen it but theirs pretty interesting stuff on there (like videos and photos) from the war in iraq you probably won't see anywhere else. Some of it is pretty disturbing, don't do like I did and watch videos right after eating. I guess these guys are just trying to market a cd they made in iraq by luring people to their site with contraversy. Pretty cool.

I looked at it last night for a few hours. Today i'm just tryin to gather people around and show the videos. I never really been political but i'm pissed now that all those soldiers have to go through all that .

Rep for the site. Very good content, something maybe not EVERYONE should see but that we all should at least be aware of.

Some food for thought... I'm a US soldier. The last thing I would want to be is a prisoner of war. However, their actions don't condone the misconduct on our part. One thing that made us unique in Desert Storm was the fact that our opposition often freely surrended to us because they knew they would be fed, sheltered, and treated humanely. And torture is a far from dependable way to get information. You may not know where Charlie Company is headed next, but if I start chopping off fingers you'll probably come up with a believable answer. Believable, but quite possibly wrong.

I'm on our side, believe me. I just hate to think that anyone has a "screw those prisoners" attitude. They're kind of like our troops in a way. People bash the soldiers for fighting a war that wasn't their idea. It's just their job. I think it's important that we stay away from hypocracy and not blame the Iraqi soldiers individually for the actions of their nation as a whole.

Out of curiosity, why aren't you at this one? My uncle is in his 40s and they sent him off. All I know about desert storm is what i saw on cnn and 3 kings. But this war is a whole different ball game. After watching those videos i'm glad i'm paying for them student loans and didn't enlist.

this is all old stuff, and iirc it is not actually them in the vids, but other units.

some pretty gruesom stuff in there. mainly the POW executions.

P.S

i know this may sound stupid, and may not apply to everyone, but..

within the next few months, i will be deploying over to Iraq as part of an Assault Force. i dont doubt i will be seeing stuff liek this while im over there, as i am in the Infantry. This is what we are trained to do.

my concern tho is for the noobs who will be going over there on thier first deployement. its bad enough that they are scared, and knowing they are going into combat, but then to see more stuff like this just adds to the stress. also for family members who visit this website and see this stuff when they have loved ones over there.

basicly, this thread is unnessecary. im not complaining about it, but i dont think this belongs here on this forum

This thread in general is needed, i agree that the POW stuff is a bit over the top. The reason I say it is needed is a little complex though and here's why:

The world tends to ignore what those in the armed forces do on a daily basis, the news skews what they do amplifies the bad apples and then calls it the truth. America has become a country which is feed its information through a tube and the only way to counter it while still living the cushy life is to absorb as much information as possible and digest it. How can you form an ubiased opinion of such an important issue without seeing other sides of the story? Not to mention that you won't see this on other modding sites or the internet in general because, in case you haven't noticed, the internet is run mostly by the media. However I digress, This may not have a place on our forums in theory but we're a pretty diversified site, I think something of this importance might be able to slide.

This post was done in good taste too. It's not like there was a link to a page with tons of graphic pictures and video's streaming in every one of the four corners of your screen. When it got to the meat and potatoes there was significant warning.

I was actually in South Korea when the whole thing started. When I say "started," I mean when the towers were attacked. After that, I was transferred to MO, where I'm an instructor. We train both deploying units/soldiers and recruits.
