I wish I did more mountain biking, but I live in Louisiana and not only have no mountains, but no friends to mountain bike with (even in school in Connecticut). I got a pretty nice bike for my high school graduation though. Eastman frame, Sids, an XT derailer (I think)

I'm with ya all the way on mountain biking I can't say I've gotten in to it enough to throw alot of money at the sport. I still ride the trek that i got from wal-mart 3 years ago. But it works well for me.

Why don't one of you heroes buy my bike??? LOL

Schwinn Moab, Shimano components, Bontrager Tires, Titec Hellbent Bar and Stem, Salsa Zona Tres saddle, Meatgrinder platform pedals, NiteRider Trailrat headlight, Technical Trail barends, Richey grips, and I have a Gyro and Specialized helmet. C'mon now, any bites?

My bike hasn't been off the wall rack in 3 years, no kidding. Had a tune-up, then got hung up. It's just sad.

Funny i would see this thread today. I am going to try to ride more, I used to almost every day, now im lucky if i do it once every six months. I was just gonna ask you guys what online store is the best to buy mountain bike components. I have a shimano deore currently, and its a piece of junk. I was considering maybe a SRAM X-7 for my next derailer. maybe some new suspension too. My Kona has RST's that are not adjustable and are easily bottomed out. I have considered gas shocks, what are your thoughts?

Well, I have been getting into bikes again, but more from a technical viewpoint than a riding one. Check the worklog here if you'd like. I'm also looking into buying a Giant Reign 3 for some trail riding. Not the top of the line, but that's what upgrades are for.

I think my racing days are done...although I must pwn J-dogg on my chopper....

I ride.

I've been doing about 25 or so miles a day on the country roads out where I live. It's great fun.

EDIT: My ride.

Only pic i could find of my bike. GT XCR 5000.

Mine doesnt have the red tires and the front shocks are covered. Not a bad bike for around town with the suspension dialed way up, or out in the kettle morain when i can get out there.

Dude sweet thread, i used to do quite of bit of cross country and trials riding

Havn't done any of that crazy **** for a while, i still have the bike (Judy) but i mainly now use it for getting to work and back.

Ill get some pics up soon, once ive cleaned her up a bit, but heres the basic setup.

GT Outpost frame, older model Rock Shox Judy forks, generic 3 piece alloy cranks, Shimano Deore XT gear system, Avid levers, original Shimano DX pedals, 24/7 bars, Tioga 26"x2.30" tires front and rear, Xrimm 2100 rims front and rear, haro bikes saddle plus various BBB hardware...oh and i have some sweet carbon reinforced spacers under my heatset

Its not the badgers nadgers, but its a damn good ride and i used to pwn down at my local dirt jumping runs.

The forks are sweet for their age, they're not the newest Judys by any means, but they were top of the line about 4/5 years ago i think. Got them nice and springy for cross country at the moment

Here are my three babies. First one is the Sting-Ray, the second one is my black all-original 1976 Schwinn Superior currently undergoing restoration. The red one was my first road bike, a 78' Traveler, but she got totalled (kinda, it's repairable, a little Bondo work will get it right out) and now is stripped to the bare frame awaiting a complete rebuild after the Superior is finished.

Yeah, just chillin, I think everyone here knows my cycling prowess so I didn't think I needed to mention it, but for the record.....

My bikes bend everyone else's bikes over and "unnnh double-up uhhh uhhh"

On a slightly related subject the shifter cable on the Sting-Ray snapped while downshifting for a turn so I had to ride it home in tall 7th, in a misting rain, into a headwind you can imagine i'm as close to death as I'l ever get for a while.....
