Default A Song for Sleeping

At the request of my psychiatrist, I'm going to be playing some music while I sleep in a flailing attempt to make my sleep more restful. Only problem is, I have no idea what to play. I have my Essential Simon and Garfunkel, and this weekend I'll make a run to buy more CDs, so here's the question I pose to you...

What music do you think suits sleeping best / What music puts you to sleep?

I go to sleep every night listening AM radio. Works better than any music. But eh... Gregorian chants work well too.

The chill channel on di.fm is good. I have a 2-disc set called Art Of Chill mixed by Altitude, its very rare and I'm out in 10 minutes. It was worth every $42.00 I paid for it.....

http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/...orable+Sky.htm

It is native america eagle bone flute music.

See if you can download an mp3 of it first or atleast get a sample.

Worked pretty good for me while I was on deployment on the aircraft carrier.

He also did an album called Island of Bows which I would reocmmend also..

How about Hemi-Sync? One frequency from one headphone ear and a different frequency from the other headphone ear. Here's their site or you can contact me for a 60 minute track that I got: http://www.hemi-sync.com/shop/customer/home.php
This can help you with astral projection, too, but that's another subject.

Led Zepplin, pink floyd, grand funk rail road, anything hard or that has a beat. Just kidding. Chants... chants... they are soothing, but BORING AS HELL.

songs with a repeating bass puts me to sleep so if i'm having trouble sleeping i just put on some trance that doesn't have any vocals. but that's me. things like car and plane engines or football stadium crowds put me to sleep too. anything that can become a droning noise.

All of these suggestions are great, Thanks a ton.

FeRaL, I am definitely going to look into it. I love NA flute.

Also going to look at The Postal Service and Enigma, all those other suggestions. This is all very much appreciated.

Oh man, when I used to own a crappy PS2 I just turned that on and listen to the waves. But I would have to say enigma or Rob Dougan. Send me a message if you want to hear some of Rob's stuff. His acoustic stuff is way better (he cant sing).

I'd prefer music to waves/other white noise, as I've noticed with some white noise it just adds auditory hullucinations to the other ones I have... The reason I'm trying to do this is sometimes when I try to sleep instead of sleeping i just have really strong hullucinations or waking nightmares, so I'll spend hours in bed without getting any sleep. This weekend I'll definitely see what I can do as far as picking up music.

Thanks,
John
