Laptop Issue

My Best friend has some sound issues when playing Nascar Racing 2003 season.
The sounds are mixing together and making it sound horrible. (car engine sounds)

He has a Dell Inspiron 9100 Laptop.

The onboard sound is a sigmatel chip. Is there anyway to fix this or maybe make somethign work so it sounds ok?
