| It has been my experience that most computer geeks, like myself, seem to have an affinity for cats over dogs. I just wondered what you leaned towards... Why do I think that is? Cats are much more intellectual and moody. They aren't always slobbering on you and they don't require walks outside. Cats are much more independant. I also think that cats have personality. A friend of mine once put it in a pretty interesting way... Most people say that they have seen someone's cat. He always says he has met someone's cat. Indicating their uniqueness. Anyways, just thought this would be interesting to see the results of. | ||

| Thrasher is more than my cat, he is my buddy. I'm a Cat person, Absolutely! With the exception of a Big Akita who is also my buddy. Wherever I am, Thrasher likes to hang with me. He will be on my lap while surfing the forums of PR or while playing UT2K3. If he isn't there, he is in th room with me hangin out. True story I was in Saudi Arabia, fighting the good fight when my daughter was a couple months old. My wife wanted to take a shower and you know mothers, she was hesitant to leave her alone even for a few minutes. Thrasher was on the bed, head buried, curled up in a ball. My wife put my daughter on the bed next to Thrasher, who looked at my daughter, then up at my wife walking to the shower. He then sat up straight and started watching over my daughter. When my wife was done with her shower, Thrasher was still there, sitting up straight, watching over my daughter. He glanced up to see my wife getting out and drying off and then curled back up into a ball burying his head again and going back to sleep. Now that is personality and intelligence. | ||

| I had a miniture pincher,Rambo was his name, he was a blast!!! Had to give him up when we took the hotel job.We gave him to Mr. Anderson an elder gentleman that had just lost his wife of 55 years. I used to go see him but stoped, getting to hard to really let go. | ||

| I'm a cat person. A cat is a perfect study in duality. They are loyal, but independent... a heartless killer, but affectionate and loving. Playful, yet dignified... I have two dogs (a shepherd/Malimute at 200 pounds, and a springer/lab at 50) and they're great companions... but I have always identified more with the cat... | ||

| Cats, yup for sure. Zach likes to perch on the back of the seat while I'm on the computer, just sits up there all proud till I give him some lapspace. (Can you imagine a 13 pound cat on the back of a seat, I'm always a little nervous if I get up, might come back to find the seat and a pi$$ed off cat on the floor LOL) Storm is a more moody, keeps a little more to herself. (especially at night when she insists on her share of the bed) | ||

| I'd say I'm pretty equal on the dog/cat front. I've had more cats than dogs since I was born (2 dogs, 5 cats), and sometimes I like one more than the other. I currently have a cat that my brother handed over because he couldn't keep him at his place (y'all have seen him before), and I had a dog that died back in August '01. I really miss having a dog these days, but until I can get another dog, my psycho cat will suffice. ![]() I'm looking forward to having different kinds of animals in the future, beyond just dogs and cats. Maybe skunks, ferrets, birds, mice.. We'll see I guess. | ||

| "...I'm a Ferret person... something about a small furry animal that makes weird noises and likes small dark places... I just have to relate to. But as far as cats and dogs?... My hillbilly grandparents will likely roll in the grave at this but... I am really more of a cat person." Kit | ||

| I'm a dog person myself. I have two Dalmatians, brother and sister, since the day they were born, which really makes them part of the family. We owned thier mother until we had to put her down due to cancer at age 7. That was 5 years ago and I still grab a dog biscuit for her now and then. Almost got a cat once, but I have a dog door and I don't want my cat roaming around outside. Heartbreak waiting to happen when they don't come home one day. | ||

It is pretty heartbreaking. We used to let our cats outside, but after I watched my cat get run over by a car right in front of my house when I was 7, and my mom found the other cat dead in the gutter down the street not too long after (someone killed him, too), we decided that was it. Luckily, my current cat only cares to look out the windows instead of going outside. | |||||||||||||||||||||
