OK, So it's the end of the day today at work, and I stop at the Shopette, (Military Convenience Store), to buy some smokes, and inside, I hear one teller telling someone that the other teller station is tied up. A lady was wanting to buy some things and she didn't have a Military ID, so she was waiting for her husband to walk there so they could finish their puchase.

As I walk outside with my carton of coffin nails, I get in my car and notice the young woman sitting against the wall talking on her cell phone. I decided to be nice and offer some help, I say, "Excuse me, but would you like me to go find your husband and get him here a little faster ?

She says "How did you know about that ?

And I reply, "I overheard the teller telling another customer why the other teller station was tied up".

This young lady says, "Well that pretty much borders on eaves dropping" and that she doesn't need any help.

I just said "right, have a good day".

Jesus, I volunteer to go out of my way and offer help at my own expense and I get "bordline eaves dropping"

I really need to put that new beer glass to use

That's pretty silly. And this is a military base, not like a Wal-Mart and an absolute stranger in a large city or something.

Sometimes I think it's a good thing almost nobody knows how good my own hearing actually is, beyond a couple people who tested it and some college friends.

Well, having been in the military myself, I can't help but say that I'm not surprised one bit. I have meet many an moron waiting for Darwin to come along and do his trick while I was in the Navy...
