| Well, since people can buy new machines under warranty with a monitor for about $450 that will outperform your old one, you really can't get much for it. I am sure that if you are patient, you could find a sucker somewhere who'd pay $300 or so for it. But if you are going to try and sell it fast, $200 tops and that's just because the OS is current. And by that I mean you gota sell the original software as well and that is $125 of your current computer's value. You are better off keeping it and using it as a file server or something. You could get a small tax right-off for donating it to a school or something like that. | ||

| Actually, I have several people who call me to ask if I have gotten in any basic or low end computers that they can give to their young ones for learning/using kiddy programs on. If you let go of the monitor, you could get 200 for it from one of those enthusiastic parents in your area. I personally keep a list of people who are looking for computers and people who's computers I've worked on w/basic speed of system. When I get in a good computer that someone doesn't want any more, I make sure it's still good, then check my list and start offering it to those for whom it would be a 500mhz upgrade or more. System like yours I generally get 175-200 for, 250-275 if I have to provide monitor for it. I never count out any system that I get in trade. Istill can get 75 bucks for a 300mhz system loaded w/win 98. Plus, if you've tested it, and you aren't trying to milk the end user, you wind up having a repeat customer, your name goes out far and wide as someone who is fair and equitable to work with.
