| Alright pimps, sorry its been a bit since I have been around I have read just not had much time to post. Busy with school/life/work etc.. etc.. Anyhow we have been assigned a project in our class to fill two request for proposal orders on two high end machines. What I am looking for is what hardware components you guys tend to like and why, or if you were to make a high end machine for yourself which hardware components would you choose.. Now its a rfp so don't take into consideration that your gonna get a mb to overclock it, lean more towards the stability of it. The first computer is to be a gaming rig, with the most up to date everything. speed/speed/speed. The second is for a graphic design box which I am leaning more towards a mac. If you can gimmie some opinions on any hardware for either rfp. I have a pretty good idea on what I am going to propose but would like a lot of input for you guys. Please when you say a certain hardware component explain the advantages of it, not just the specs but why you lean towards A rather then B. Also there is NO BUDGET!!! WOOHOO!! If you ever hear those words jump at it!! lol.. but please no 20g computer =P.. Thanks pimps. Hopefully I will be posting a lot more after april, Finals begin april 25th =/.. | ||

| Wait a few weeks for San Diego 4000+ A64s to show up. Grab a gig of OCZ PC4000 Gold VX. Get a pair of 6800 Ultra's and put them on a DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI board with the second RAID controller. RAID 5 a trio of Maxtor 300GB drives with the 16MB cache. Use an OCZ 600W Powerstream or a PC Power and Cooling 850W (if you're extreme) The rest is all preference. Or do I have to build it specifically down to the last little bit? Oh yeah, I've seen the Venice cores hit 2.8 GHz on air so I'm being optimistic and hope that the 4000+ San Diego can hit 11x250 HTT (2.75 GHz) | ||
