Default IPC - A - 610c certification :)

I recently signed up for an IPC - A - 610c certification program at my job, IPC is an industry standard for inspection, manufacturing and handling of PC boards and electronic assemblies. pretty interesting stuff.

There's even a section about heatsinks and heatsink epoxy. this is easy stuff. I test on Tuesday and if I pass I am therefore certified. It's the manufacturing equivalent to Microsoft A+ certification

Well it's close enough. Some of this stuff is common sense. anti-ESD practices, maximum allowed overhang on SMT components, edge clip terminals, nonwetting, stress relief for part leads

Either that or I just spend too much time at work

IPC-A-610 –1 IPC-A-610C Worker Proficiency Certification

This course, taught by an IPC certified instructor, covers workmanship standards for classes 1, 2, and 3 of the IPC-A-610C document. Students who complete the certification training program, and pass the test, will receive an IPC certificate valid for two years.

Using 3D images, animations, videos and full narration, the course brings to life the standards associated with manufacturing SMT & Through-Hole printed circuits boards. The course takes approximately 8-10 hours to complete including testing. Use this course to train, qualify, certify and re-certify. The information in this course is based on the J-STD-001C and IPC-A-610C. The material provides a complete breakdown of the J-STD-001C/IPC-A-610C standards and a detailed explanation on each topic.
