| Apex Advanced Techie | Ok, it is official. I HATE INTERNET EXPLORER!!! Sorry. On to my thread. This is going to be the shortened version, so anything I leave out let me know, and I'll try to fill in more later. I've been offered a job at my current place of employment. I currently work in the IS dept. BTW, I'm a senior in the school to work program. The job is the same as my current job, but with better pay and more hours. The only thing is, the management wants me to become an MCSA. I don't have a problem with this, for they are more than willing to pay for the books and tests. I just have a few things I would like to know from those of you here with MCSA's or MCSE's even. 1. Did you pick it up fairly quickly? I've had about a year of experience with a Server 2003 domain, but I haven't done too much work on the servers themselves. 2. What did you think of the tests? Easy, hard, mediocre? 3. Basically any words of wisdom or things you'd like to pass on (PLEASE!!) My manager is an MCSE for NT 4, but he's going to start his MCSE for server 2k3 about the same time as I would my MCSA, so it may be possible for him to help me out too. If you have any questions for me, by all means please ask me. Thanks in advance!! Also, I know there are some MCSE's and A's here, I did do a search. Thanks guys!! | |

| i'm not an certified in M$, but i do have my ccna..i took 1 yr of cisco classes at my local technical college as well as 1yr of M$ classes..i was required to have a ccna for my new job, so i went to go take the test, cuz i just completed all the classes at my school..I FAILED, MISERABLY..studying at that time was not an option since i had to have the cert within the next month, and since my job wasn't paying for anything except the test, i had to fork out the money for one of those 5-day cram classes..came out with flying colors ![]() moral of the story: if you have the time to study, and they are going to pay for the books and tests, go for it, what have you got to lose?? PS: yes, the tests are hard :O | ||

| One of the guys who works for me got his 2000 MCSA the year before last. It was a piece of cake for him, and he didn't do any work on the servers at all. I've got my NT4 MCSE; that was a cakewalk too. I might do my MCSE 2003 since we're running a complete 2003 domain here with 70+ servers, but it's not a requirement...yet, at least ![]() | ||
