Lately I have been woundering if I should cut my hair
so I desided to ask you all what you think I should do
my hair reaches half way down my back and Its almost
always braded. Ive had it like this from 3rd grade to now
(Im a freshmen rightnow). Alot of people at my school
think that im a punker and listen to heavy metal even
though I never dress like a punker or where black.

Just thoght to ask you guys and se what you think

Who cares what anyone else thinks! If you think your hair is fine the way it is, and its comfortable than keep it. On the other side of things i bet the goth chicks dig it..... Another thing to consider is the savings youd have on conditioner and shampoo. My girl runs through about a bottle of each, each week, but her hair goes down to her butt so i dont know.

yeah, only cut it if you feel comfortable with cutting it.
If you like it the way it is, than keep it.
I had no general hairstyle and im happy with it.
People have tried to convince me to spike it and various other cuts, but i stick with what i got.
Im just gonna grow a mustache.

If you cut it off make sure to find out about donating it. My little sister cutt all her hair off and they took it for a donation for cancer people who loose thier hair.

....and you know i had to chime in on this one.

I had long hair that was past my waiste from the age of 13 to 20. At that time i had started a job that i liked and desperatley needed, and they said i had to cut my hair. I did, had to get pretty sloshed to do so, but i did it.

I have to admit after having long hair for that long it was a nice change to chop it all off for once. less hair to wash, brush, etc etc etc. though i di dregret it after i quit the afore mentioned job just a short 2 years later.

at 24 i started letting my hair go again and its pretty long again. almost middle of my back.

moral of the story is if you're going to cut off your hair, do it because you want to do it. and secondly, you can always grow it back later on.

and if you do cut it, definatley find out about donating it.

Yeesh... This and the beard question the other day. This is the internet, we dont care wtf you look like! Go find a board where hair stylists and fashion consultants hang out or something... And this whole post came out way harsher than i meant it...

I had my hair ponytail length for about 3 months. I have to wear a hat at work, so having long hair gets a little annoying. I cut mine off shorter, but still long.

If you want to, go for it. At least post a pic.

You must follow what you feel most confortable with.
If you ARE going to have it cut, you should donate it, no point in having alot of hair go to waste.

Agreed if you do decide to cut it off donate it. My sister had long hair knew she was going to loose it when she started treatments. You would be surprised how thankfull cancer patients are when they have hair or a wig that they can use.
I had long hair for a while half way down my back,cut it off shoulder length kept it there for a while.(Over 10 years) I started to look for a job, got a interview and decided it was maybe time to cut it off. I did ,truthfully it has been about a week now and i am still getting use to it but I am getting to like it a little more. Cool thing about it , You dont dig it it will allways grow back.
Edit: If you are unsure about how or what kind of haircut to get ,save up a good amount of cash. Call ahead look on the net of hair places around your area that consult. There are alot of haircutters out there that realy know what they are doing and will tell you what will look best. Just take you time and tell theim that you are a little nervous about doing it. The lady that did mine was great we talked about what i was going to do ,what i was thinking and she took her time, 2 hours is how long I was there.

Uhm, why not find a barber with a REAL barber pole outside and ask him to give you a High and Tight.

To put a slightly different spin on this poll... May not mean a whole lot to you now, but after the age of adulthood, if you have very long shiny, soft hair that is obviously well kept and cared for.... you will have women come up to you and want to run their fingers thru your hair. I was at a job for a while when I had hair well past my shoulders, and it was nothing for several of the women to just walk up behind me and start playing in my hair. My wife is the worst for this tho, she will see a guy with hair down mid-back or to his butt, get a big grin on her face and start over towards him with her hands out. I have to gently grab her by the shoulders to dissuade her from assaulting a total stranger.

Keep it, cut it, your choice. It does come back -- ususally. (depending on genetics) But in my case, my hairline is making a beeline for my behind. So I'm going Kojak because I just don't have the energy to do the Rogaine/hair transplant route.

Ok put it this way:

You wont get it caught in hedges when running past or through them
You won't get it jammed in the car door.
You'll half your shower time
You wont get sued by people on the side walk because your hair was invading their privacy in high-winds.
You'll be able to get lcose to your PC when its on...because the fans wont suck your hair in.
You wont get judged as feminine the ol' "Excuse me mam" will no longer taunt you

My advice? half its current length and see how you like it..pony tails are pretty slick...and a couple of peps in my college have them...and no disrespect to 'em, it looks coolio.

I say cut it. I dont really dig the whole long hair thing, and recently half of the guys in our school shaved their heads in honor of our basketball team going to state. Some girls hated us for it, others love the feeling of a buzzed head. I say do it, and watch the reactions of all the people as you walk down the hall and they dont recognize you.

Shoot man, if you live near STL, PM me and I'll do your hair for free. I did most of my friends that shaved their heads.

I agree!! 100% But it still isn't as bad as the one about "how do you wipe your ass?" That one was horrible and I can't believe it stayed popular for a while! GROSS people.....LOL

I have to wade in on the side of keeping yer hair. I've kept mine long for the better part of 10 years . . . never achieving a SUPER length (it's always been around shoulder length), but I'm working on that now that I don't have to worry about trimming up for job related reasons, and it's been nothing but good to me.

The extra time my hair eats up is actually minimal to me . . . Time to take a shower when I had short hair? 15 minutes. . . Time to take a shower now? 15 minutes. Hell, my beard needs more maintaining than my do does . . . *laughs*

Add that to the fact that my wife loves it long on me. Oh, and as far as ppl mistaking me for a woman? Ain't nothin sweeter than watching a dumb redneck or jock's face when he realizes the chick he just wolf whislted has more hair on 'her' face than he does on his whole body. Priceless. *grins* But I'm just a bastid like that.
