I like watching a good game of football ... but they're pretty rare. Most seem to involve the players diving, faking injuries, disrespecting the referee & giving up 1/2 way through & settling on a draw.

I used to play rugby - there's a proper sport - the referee is usually the smallest guy on the field, but the players treat him with total respect; and you don't go off injured unless you've got a compound fracture.

Football players are a bunch of poofters - I've given & recieved some pretty heavy tackles, and you either get helped up afterwards by the guy that knocked you down, or vice versa & get on with it. A football player getting the same knock would roll all the way across the pitch before going off in a bodybag

Milan? If you'd said Manchester United I'd have been up in arms

Because I respect you so much JE I won't comment on that! But if you were anyone else so help me......

I like rugby and have played it, but we don't have that here in the states. I played football all my years in high school and now I play Arena Football for the Tri-City Stars. So I have respect for football here as you do Rugby there!

Aaaaaiiimen to that.

Football has too much money in it, and when thep layers are arrested for what ever reason, they get away with these meesly little sentences like 1 month or a £10k fine which they can just wipe out with the money they own. If they can't play properly on the field, why should they play at all?

I fully agree with rugby - there's still a love for the sport, and its still a sport that is enjoyed, not just for money. I played rugga whn I was 10 till 14 - just the B team, but you really felt you were in the team and you were there for a reason.

Soccer fan here. Played for ~10 years of my life. I dropped it last year cause I had some other stuff I wanted to do. I agree with Johnny though, good matches are hard to find once you get into the professional stuff. Too much acting. I dont get to see many soccer matches over here in the States cause most stations dont broadcast them too often.

Never liked football. Too much stop and go. I respect rugby cause those guys are beasts; too much for me though.

Before you get too upset, are you sure we're talking about the same thing?

Your soccer = my football,
your football = my American football.

Soccer is my favorite sport. I've been playing the sport since I was five years old. I plan to photograph some HS soccer games this fall. Remind me and I'll share the photos with you guys.

I need to get back into watching some footie . . . In college it drove my roomies nuts cause I'd talk about watching football, and they'd start naming US football teams . . . I'd start laughing . . . "No, REAL football! Not that pathetic Rugby knockoff you guys like."

Everyone else has the cool sports . . . Ours . . Meh . . I just can't get into American sports at all.

I've been playing since I was five.
I'm still playing...except I'm coaching this year, as well as playing.
Staying faster than guys 10 years younger keeps them trying harder for me.
ie "I'm tired Coach!"
"really? I'm not...how old are you? Youre letting someone as old as I run circles around you?..."
Hehehe
