i want to grow a goatee.. but not the one underneath the chin, i already have that mastered i want the line that goes down the middle of ur chin.. i forget the name. i got it just under my lip already but i cant get that line.. what should i do.. just shave that line that has no hair everyday till some comes in?

You're still young, so it might take another year before more hair grows in. I'm not sure though since I'm a girl, but the guys I've known they were 17 or 18 even 20 before they grew hair in that area. Everyone is also different so it may take longer or shorter

haha yea im a hairy kid .. my underchin goatee started coming in 2 years ago, so its nothing new!

Yeah I am 24 and I still barely have to do anything, just shave with the electric once a morning! I am not a hairy guy at all and I love it though! I still look like a kid and enjoying it!

Well I would love to encourage you but . . . it could never happen. I am going on 30 and I have been waiting for 15 year you get that all the way around the mouth goatee goin and it just aint happenin. I gave up long ago. And i hate say it but i am a hairy guy too. LOL

I'm rocking a pretty long chin goatee (that everybody hates. I guess it is lobsided), and I found that the best way to get it to grow fast was to let it grow for a while, then shave it, repeat. If you do not choose this method,I might.

Well, I don’t really think all those “shave more often” methods work. When I was 16 I could grow a full beard for the most part. When I was 18 I did the “Foo Man Choo” thing, which wasn’t at all popular at the time, but I learned by trial and error how to cut lines in the facial hair. I just used a cheap thin bladed electric beard trimmer.

Now I just sport a regular short trimmed goatee (see my profile pic) since most of the other parts of my face grow in gray Anyway, some people can grow it and some canÂ’t, but good luck with your mission

Uhg, dont do it man. You're ruining it for the rest of us. This is why women hate beards, cuz their boyfriend in high school tried to grow one ASAP and it looked like crap and felt all horrible and scratchy since he didn't know how to properly trim it or take care of. Now at my age women have a distrust of beards even though i waited to grow one untill i could, keep it neatly trimmed and washed right so its relativly soft. Rrr, sorry to take out my singleness on you, but yeah, i look much better with my beard and like it myself, but the ladies dont think so too much.

Eh.. could be worse. I had to shave twice a day when I was 17 (I have a bright red beard and blond hair.. don't look kewl). Also I at 23 years of age can't grow a mustache.

Its called a soul patch and goats are so last month the only guys wearing those now are gay porn stars and folks that still think they look slick cause they are not old enuff to do anything else. Shave be a man get use to razor burn ,chunks of skin missing and the joys of ingrown hairs when you rake the razor againest the grain of the way hair grows.
EDIT: i aint saying the guys that have goats all fall under that class ,just the ones that are wanting to grow cause its the "alt. thing" to do when you are underaged with nothing else to do.Learn to shave ,get it down then you will be able to respect and care for a beard,goat ,whatever you choose.

Or uh... learn to shave. Only time i have problems with chunks of skin is when i shave a zit on accident.

Cyno01 - Just gotta find yerself the right lady, I guess. My lady loved the goatee and wanted me to grow it out long enough to start braiding, but winter came along, and I went my usual snow time rout of growing out the full thing . . . and she ended up loving the look.

Iateronmly - Sheesh, and I thought I had it bad with my callico (spelling?) beard. Seriously, in highschool, it came in with blond, red, auburn, brown, orange, white and black. It didn't make up it's mind on a majority color of brown for close to 3 years.

And, yes, definately one of the wierder threads I've been part of.

Personally I'm saving up for the laser treatment and be done with it - I get bumps like a mofo and bleed like a stuck pig (trust me folks - I've tried all the tips they don't work). Can't grow it without lookin' like some sort of circus freak either.

Thats for sure, college, should be getting more ladies now than any other time in my life, but im on the longest dry spell of singleness ever. As for hair weirdness, i think i've got everybody beat. On my head, it goes from wispy and blonde in places, to thick black curly hairs and everything in between (doesn't look as weird as it sounds, really). My beard is mostly very red, with some brown, and all my body hair (legs, pits, what little chest hair i've got, etc) is as irish red as it comes. And yeah, i think i just made this thread even weirder.
