Working on a computer

Hey everyone...just had a repair job dumped upon me, the symptoms are many popups, toolbars, and slowness, so we all know what that means...SPYWARE

and even worse....viruses

Scanning with ad-aware as we speak, and so far its found 506 traces..........

Let me know if you break 3000. Thats my personal record. Well, not any of my computers, but a repair job. I hope you're not in it for the long haul, my record time for a virus scan was 1299 minutes using symantec corporate, and this was on a 2.2ghz celeron B with 512mb!! Quite a few virii.

Ive been fixing a power connector in a laptop myself today. to resolder it, I had to pull the mobo, which involved dismantling every single peice of the computer, the mobo is the last part to come out. It was a 2 hour job, and I know my way around the insides of laptops pretty well (and am building a bit of a reputation... most people wont even touch laptops)

good to hear ur starting on laptops

ive done a few things to them before, but i shy away from dismantling them (too many bad experiences)
