Talking A Funkibut looks at 40

At approximately 0900 Eastern US time today, I will turn 40 years old. As befits my responsibility as one of the elder members of Pimprig, I will take this opportunity to give our younger members a birthday gift: a soupcon of the wisdom I have acquired lo these many years.

.] You CAN teach an old dog new tricks; when the dog is old enough "play dead forever" is one of the easiest.

.] The grass is not greener on the other side of the fence if you use Krylon "Grass Green" in the rattle can on your side of the fence first.

.] "Never a lender nor a borrower be"??? Obviously Shakespeare didn't know about the interest rates credit card companies would be allowed to charge.

.] The pen is still mightyer than the sword because you can't get a sword thru airport security.

.] Nice guys don't finish last 'cause nice guys often don't start.

.] The love of money is not the root of all evil. My kid is evil for free.

.] A sucker was born every minute in P.T. Barnum's time. Due to medical advances, a sucker is now born every 4.6 seconds.

.] Winners do quit - when they win.

.] The early bird does not get the worm. Worms sleep late. The early bird started this rumor because she hated being alone first thing in the morning.

.] Crime pays. But generally you have to give it a fancy name first like "executive compensation".
