as of yesterday we have been dumped on again 48 cm of snow and wind gusts of 70 kph winds, before this weather we had another 2 storms within the week and had atleast 20 - 30 cm, this is the 3rd snow storm within one week,

has anyone else notice any odd weather as of late? and might this be a sign of more to come and could we be looking at another ice age very soon? has anyone watched the movie, "the day after tomorrow"? when they got all that weather and snow .....well i hate to say it but it looks like that REALLY could happen!

I hear ya about the weather being weird, but it's always weird. Especially in Eastern Canada.

You guys got dumped on hella bad the last FEW years, so it shouldn't be a big surprise for ya...

For the rest of y'all, Eastern Canada's received about 120cm of snow in the past week or so. That's about four feet of snow.

That 'Day After Tomorrow' bit was freakin' hilarious. Watch out, the sky is falling!!! lol

Speaking as a native of the state of Maine, you know, that state that everyone in the US thinks is part of Canada . . . *rolls eyes* I'm freaking jealous if you're getting hit with tons of snow. . . Since I've moved to Kentucky to be with my wife, the avg winter weather has been 40 degrees F or higher . . . And the locals tell me that this is odd, as they're used to having more snow and colder temps . . . But this has been over the last few years that the changes have been going on.

So, I say simply get prepared, just in case, but don't freak out thinking that any kind of climactic apocalypse is on the way . . . and enjoy the snow, dammit!! Either that or try to package it up and send it my way!!

about 2 feet of snow in 10 hours (and we were near the BOTTOM of the band), grandparents got around 3' give or take because it drifted alot. For us in Mass it's been about 0 all week, wind chill goes -10 to -20...

A couple of weeks ago we got pounded by storms for about a week and a half. All total I had 36" of snow in my backyard. We nornally only see about 1 storm that leaves any significant amount of snow here on the valley floor. We usually see a storm with about 6" and then a few with 1 to 2" and it is almost always gone the next day. This was the largest amount of snow that we have seen since 1911. This stuff still hasn't melted off and causes dense fog at about 7pm and it doesn't lift until about 10am.

I was watching a report on TV about all the odd geological events taking place lately all around the world. Most of it supposed to be because every 10-20 years a cooling trend takes place. The trend that is taking place now is that the Pacific which is normally warmer than the Atlantic is cooling down and the Atlantic is warming up. This is create all sorts of climate changes throughout the world. It could cause big diasters all around the world buts its unlikely.

And the beautiful thing about all this 'weird' weather is . .. It's all part of the normal cycle. We're leaving El Nino and everything's normalizing. Give it about 2 or 3 years and things should be back to what it was in about 1980 or so as far as winter weather. Then the whole thing rolls on around once again.

Nova Scotia's almost as well known to Mainers for it's weather as it is for the music, so I can completely grok how you're feeling. I'm just a bit of a strange one when it comes to weather. Give me cold and snowy over any kind of heat or humidity any day. I

We got a light dusting over here in TN and I did what all men need to do, waste a tank of gas pulling stunts only seen in movies on high performance street tires.

Something really fun doing 5000 RPM in second... flying around a corner with almost zero tracktion at 50 MPH.

No one was injured during my driving.

You guys should come down here. The weather in the past week or two has been so nice that I've taken up walking to school for about an hour /20 min each day round trip. I'm loving it.

Undoubtably we've done some damage to our environment for the past 100 years, but I think things will start to improve with many of the regulations being put into effect worldwide and as alternative sources of energy present themselves.

Pfft, I live in the country. That means snow, ice and country roads. Think of my driving conditions.
