| Apex Master Tech | I'm not very familiar with the, +/- and double layer stuff when it comes to these burners, just want something to be able to burn movies from computer (mpeg, avi, xvid and divx, although i will probably convert all those to dvd) and have them work on a standard dvd player with a TV. This one got 5stars, and has a pretty nice price tag. Anything certain i need to be looking for though? Thanks! aopen 16x double layer DVD burner | |

NEC burners, thats what I use and recommend. I have heard great things about the ND3500 series and I have two of them myself. One is really picky on what it will read (as far as scratched discs) but they are great drives. Mine is 16x, dual layer, dual format - bought it off the Egg. I have also used quite a few of the Samsung drives with no problems, also off the Egg. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Definitely have to agree with aaronkelly on this one...if you're looking for a good burner at a decent price, try something by NEC (or an NEC burner rebadged as something else). The 2500's should be at a fairly decent price. I currently have one and I recommended that to two of my friends. None of us have had any problems so far *knock on wood* good luck! | ||
