| Apex Techie Lite | I am getting sick and tired of WinXP. I thought it might be an improvement over 98 and ME and it's still Microsoft, you can't escape that. I want to install Mandrake-Linux as a secondary (hopefully to be primary) OS on my HD. I will just use the same partition I have right now for windows. On the hardware compatability list however, none of my system is listed except my mouse, monitor, and processor. My mobo isn't mentioned but other ECS mobos are...what is the worst thing that will happen if I install and try to start-up Linux, some of my stuff won't work on it possibly like sound and video? or can I risk really screwing my system up? thanks in advance | |

| More than likely even though you hardware may not be listed, it will be compatable, i run serverl linux distros, and havent sufferd too much of a problem The hardest part to set up will more than likely be your Audigy2 sound card. Check here for the latest drivers for the Audigy 2 http://opensource.creative.com/ | ||
