| heres my plan/question. my webcam stopped working at the worst time when i had to use it for my parents to talk oversees. so what i did was take some home video in the camcorder and connected it to my vcr. i then plugged the vcr to my video card. then on messenger i set the web cam as my video in. there was only video but i can hear the sound on my television. my question is can i somehow get sound on my computer? if i put a cable from audio out on my vcr to my jack where my microphone goes i think that would work but i wouldnt be able to talk. is there a way to have 2 sorts of audio on a messenger chat? i want to show them video with sound and be able to talk at the same time. anyone know what im asking? | ||

| Why not just talk into the mic that's on the camcorder? And, why not just plug the camcorder's yellow plug into your computers video in, and then get an RCA-> 1/8" mini jack adapter, then plug that into the microphone and just bypass everything. Don't know why that shouldn't work... | ||

NoSlak, i know that, but, have you ever been to some store that sells them and they have them hooked up to a TV live? I'm suggesting doing that, and using the video in feature like he said he was using already, unless I misunderstood originally. It's an analog solution, not a digital one like tycoon said. As long as your cam can output live to a yellow RCA jack, and your computer has a video in feature (might not have yellow jack, you might need a s-video->rca converter), it should work. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| to clear it up my video card has VIVO ( video in video out i guess ). another is that is there an adapter that can make my micrphone fit into a usb slot then put audio from my vcr into where my original microphone always goes. would this work in a messenger conversation? 2 audios and 1 webcam? | ||
